Objetivo: reconocer la estructura gramatical correcta para formar oraciones y textos
interrogativos en el tiempo progresivo con el verbo “to be”.

Tiempo progresivo – forma interrogativa

VERBO TO BE + SUJETO + VERBO (-ING) + COMPLEMENTO + ?

El verbo “TO Be” conjugado según

el tiempo, pasado, presente o • ¿Está usted comiendo en el salón de clase?

Presente progresivo • ¿Está ella estudiando en el comedor?

Is she studying in the dining room?

IS + SUJETO + VERBO (-ING) + COMPLEMENTO + ? • ¿Estamos nosotros leyendo un libro en la sala?
ARE GERUNDIO Are we reading a book in the living room?

• ¿Está el gato jugando con una pelota morada?

Is the cat playing with a purple ball?
 Progresivo
Answers ¿Ellos están jugando en el parque ahora?
Are they playing in the park now?

Respuesta larga afirmativa: Yes, they are playing in the park now.
Respuesta larga negativa: No, they are not playing in the park now.

Respuesta corta afirmativa: Yes, they are.

• ¿Estaban ustedes copiando la tarea?
Respuesta corta negativa: No, they are not. (aren’t)
Were you copying the homework?

• ¿Estaba usted comiendo en el salón de clase?

Pasado progresivo Were you eating in the classroom?

• ¿Estaba el bebiendo leche en la panadería?

WAS + SUJETO + VERBO (-ING) + COMPLEMENTO + ?
Was he drinking milk in the bakery?

• ¿Usted estaba trabajando ayer en la tarde?
Were you working yesterday afternoon?

Futuro progresivo interrogativo
will + sujeto + be + verbo (-ing) + complemento + ?
gerundio
• ¿Estará usted comiendo en el salón de clase?
Will you be eating in the classroom?
• ¿Nosotros estaremos tomando café hoy a las 6 de la tarde?
Will we be drinking coffee today at 6 pm?
• ¿Su hermano estará trabajando la próxima semana?
Will your brother be working next week?
Progresivo
•En las wh- questions, la wh-word se ubica al comienzo
de la oración interrogativa.
Ejemplo:
¿Dónde estaba ella leyendo el periódico?
Where was she reading the newspaper?
¿Cuándo estaba Pedro jugando fútbol en la calle?
¿When was Pedro playing soccer in the street?
¿Quién estaba tocando la guitarra?
¿Who was playing the guitar?
¿A quién estaba llamando Carlos?
¿Whom was Carlos calling?
