ABSTRACT
This Project was done by the researchers Hernán Antonio Ariza Cogollo, Joshy Johana
Puentes Ortega, Nurys del Carmen Sierra Torres and Priest Jaime David Barrios Álvarez
at “Institución Educativa Santa Teresa” in Cereté, Córdoba. Its main goal is to implement
a methodological proposal which involves the use of games and songs as a pedagogic
strategy to strengthen the learning process of the English language in sixth grade
students. The proposal offers a variety of strategies to support the teaching and learning
processes that take place when learning a foreign language, involving a communicative
competence and using active and interactive methodologies. The core of strategies is
ludic, which plays the main role in designing didactic activities, taking place meaningful
learning.
This research project was applied to a sample of 40 students that belong to sixth grade
group one (6-1) at IE Santa Teresa in the municipality of Cereté. This was a qualitative
methodological approach type project. Four categories were taken into account:
Bilingualism, Mother Language, Functionality and Foreign Language. These categories
were defined so as to work as references and later be taken into practice using activities
for each one. It was evident the importance of using ludic as a decisive element in the
teaching process, taking place a significant learning.
During this research were applied some techniques and collecting data instruments such
as a survey, an interview, a questionnaire, and some workshops/games for students and
teachers, concluding that ludic can really strengthen the English learning in classes.
