Laguna de Ozogoche

El complejo lacustre de Ozogoche compuesto por 45 lagunas, se ubica en el Parque Nacional

Sangay, es conocido por uno de los fenmenos ms sorprendentes del mundo natural, ya que
cada ao durante el mes de septiembre y hasta mediados de octubre, miles de aves (cuvives)
provenientes de Estados Unidos se suicidan sumergindose en las fras aguas de las lagunas.
Para rendir homenaje a las aves suicidas, los campesinos del sector ofrecen un festival de
msica tradicional, baile, teatro y exposicin de artesanas. Para los amantes de la naturaleza,
este maravilloso complejo lacustre rodeado por el brillo de las montaas ofrece tranquilidad y
paz.

The lagoon complex of Ozogoche, which is composed of 45 lagoons, is located in Sangay

Laguna de Colta

Conocida en kichwa como Kulta Kucha que significa Laguna de Pato, es una hermosa
laguna de fcil acceso, cruzada por la carretera Panamericana y la recuperada lnea frrea. El
espejo de agua de forma alargada rodeada por una exuberante vegetacin donde predomina la
tortora y junto al esplendor del nevado Chimborazo ofrece a los turistas un paisaje maravilloso.

Nevado en el altar
Es un volcn ya extinto, el ms hermoso de los nevados por su extraordinaria forma terminada
en picos, se ubica en la cordillera Oriental de los Andes dentro del Parque Nacional Sangay.
El pico ms alto del Altar es el Obispo cuya altura oscila entre los 5.310 msnm, los picos ms
conocidos son: El Tabernculo, El Cannigo, La Monja Grande, La Monja Chica, Los
Frailes y el Aclito.
Los glaciares de los altares forman mgicas lagunas, entre las ms importantes tenemos: la
Amarilla, Azul, Verde, Pintada entre otras.

Museo de la concepcin

La mayora de objetos que forman parte del Museo de la Concepcin son figuras religiosas de
la poca colonial, en este patrimonio se muestra una amplia gama de esculturas, lienzos,
objetos de plata y orfebrera de los siglos XVII y XVIII, entre los que se resaltan las custodias,
copones y diversos elementos ornamentales provenientes de las antiguas poblaciones de
Cajabamba y Cicalpa.
