RESUMEN
ABSTRACT
Present paper shows the advantages of the utilization of an integrated scheme for sugar,
alcohol and fodder yeast production as compares to the isolated operation of individual
plants.
From the raw material outlook, integrated operation yields a significant reduction (37%)
of molasses deficit for alcohol fermentation in a 5500 t/day sugar mill associated to a
1200 HL/day distillery and a fodder yeast plant of 30 t/day.
Regarding to energy balance, the integration of processes reverts a deficit of electricity
produced (315 Mw along the campaign) to deliver an overproduction of 780 Mw, using
bagasse as the sole fuel.
Key words: sugar complex, integrated operation, alcohol, distillery, fodder yeast
