INTRODUCCIN

El presente trabajo aborda un tema muy importante ya que el correcto uso del tiempo en
la implementacin de la tecnologa ya sea en el mbito acadmico o laboral puede
facilitar y optimizar las tareas que estemos realizando, logrando as un impacto
favorable o desfavorable segn el tipo de administracin aplicado, consiguiendo
eficiencia y eficacia en el logro objetivos y metas.

Technology usage has seen an increase among users. The usage varies from
social, personal, and psychological reasons. Users are frequently using to overcome
mood states as well as to manage the other psychological states. This work is going to
explore the information technology use among subjects with a psychiatric disorder.
Materials and Methods: A total of 75 subjects were assessed using background data
sheet, internet addiction impairment index, video game use pattern, pornography
addiction screening tool and screening for mobile phone use, from in-patient and out-
patient setting of tertiary mental health setting. Results: It showed the presence of
addiction to mobile, internet, video game, and pornography. Age was found to be
negatively correlated with this addiction. Average usage time had been associated with
management of mood states. The addiction to information technology had been
associated with a delay in initiation of sleep. Conclusion: This work has implication for
screening technology addiction among subjects seeking treatment for psychological
problems and motivate them to develop the healthy use of technology.

El buen uso de la tecnologa y su debida administracin del tiempo en ello es

una ayuda muy importante porque nos permite agilizar y automatizar nuestro trabajo
aumentando as la productividad ero a la vez puede ser un arma de doble filo ya que as
como puede ayudarnos en muchos aspectos tambin puede afectarnos ya que no toda la
informacin existente en la web es verdadera o comprobable

 Siempre que una organizacin lleva a cabo una iniciativa que involucra a la
Tecnologa de la Informacin resulta habitual hacer mencin de la Reingeniera de
Procesos. En definicin, la Reingeniera de Procesos se refiere al rediseo de procesos
organizacionales con el objeto de obtener mejoras sustanciales en reas de desempeo
clave como: servicio, calidad, costo y velocidad de respuesta (Kemal Altinkemer,
2011). El rediseo radical comprende la eliminacin de los procedimientos existentes y
la reinvencin de los procesos, no slo su mejora incremental, el objetivo es lograr
avances importantes en el desempeo (Evans y William M., 2008)

La tecnologa en el mbito cumple un rol vital para la agilizacin de procesos de

aprendizaje en una institucin, pero para lograrlo en casos que amerite se debe
implementar una reingeniera para obtener mejoras, de hecho se debe trabajar siempre
en funcin a la mejora continua actualizndose y transformndose para ser ms
competitivos en nuestro entorno.

Information Technology in education is defined as a combination of the

processes and tools involved in addressing the educational needs and problems by using
computers and other related electronic resources and technologies (Ball & Levy,
2008; Roblyer, 2006). Applications of information technology in education is
commonly referred as educational technologies (Bernard & Abrami, 2004; Kingsley,
2007). Some of the examples of IT in education includes wireless connectivity, using
online learning Management systems, internet technologies, merged technologies, high
speed communication infrastructures, emerging technologies for visual presentation,
accessing course materials through internet resources and artificial intelligence (Ball &
Levy, 2008).

We can classify the educational technologies (Ball & Levy, 2008; Roblyer,
2006) into three main categories: 1) Instructional, 2) Productivity, 3) Administrative.
Today most of the academics are utilizing the applications of Information Technologies
for their teaching purposes such as tutorials, researching, simulations and other forms of
instructions. Faculties' usage of Online Learning systems are also quite common
(Woods, Baker, & Hopper, 2004). Bernard & Abrami (2004) suggested that recent
usage of educational technologies increased use of collaborative learning among
faculties and students which promotes the constructivist approaches in education.

While applications of information technology brings a lot of benefits to the

academic world, it also possess a few challenges. Schmidt, (2002, p.6) suggested that
"effectively replacing the traditional class rooms is one of the greatest challenges in
placing the course on the internet". Educational practices using information
technologies should bring overall teaching and learning to a higher level quality of
online learning should be equal or higher than the quality of education in the traditional
classrooms (Ball & Levy, 2008; Schmidt, 2002). Butler & Sellbom, (2002)in their
research works identified the major challenges to adopting technology for teaching and
learning. Butler & Sellbom, (2002) pointed out that unreliability, poor faculty
proficiency in technology, resistance to use new technologies, lack of institutional
support are the major challenges for integration and use of information technology in
educational environments.

Sin duda alguna el uso de la tecnologa en la poca moderna se ha convertido

imprescindible porque nos permite resolver problemticas con mayor rapidez y ya en el
rea de la educacin se piensa seriamente en sustituir las aulas fsicas por aulas
virtuales, lo que ya se ha venido viendo como es el caso de youtube y sus tutoriales,
pero esto conlleva a un desafo muy grande porque se debe implementar una plataforma
de calidad para que la inversin aportada no sea en vano y se logre un resultado an mas
efectivo que en el tiempo que estamos.

El uso de las TICs en el aprendizaje van de la mano los profesores con los
alumnos, es decir, un trabajo en equipo, ya que los profesores son los que les orientan
para su correcto uso y funcionamiento porque en la actualidad se dictan cursos o tutoras
va internet siendo sta una forma innovadora de educarse, ya que podemos aprender
nuevas cosas en cualquier momento involucrndose mucho ms en el buen uso del
tiempo en la tecnologa.

CONCLUSIN

Primeramente ha resultado muy interesante y muy til aprender el funcionamiento de la

base de datos cientficos de la Universidad Central del Ecuador en su biblioteca virtual
porque alberga un sinnmero de documentos, artculos, revistas, etc, que sirven para el
estudio y consulta de diferentes temas.

Por otra parte al investigar acerca del tema planteado se puede decir que la tecnologa
con su debida administracin del tiempo son una herramienta importante para sobresalir
y diferenciarse de los dems obteniendo un valor agregado en los procesos y tareas tanto
acadmica como laboralmente pero eso s sin dejar a un lado la responsabilidad, tica y
moral.
