1985). Es importante mencionar que debido a las precarias condiciones
educativas las enfermedades mentales muchas veces no son detectadas y esto
estimula que se maltrate al enfermo tal vez sin querer pero igual se hace como

En la india como pas en vas de desarrollo aunque existen leyes estas no se
aplican para salvaguardar el bienestar y el respeto a los derechos humanos.
The findings of the present study showed that in a majority of areas, human
rights violations among the mentally ill are present systematically in both
urban and rural settings with few differences in physical and ethical
dimensions. Hence, there is an urgent need to change the attitude of the
general population towards mental illness which in turn helps to protect the
rights of people with mental illness. Mental health professionals can play an
important role in disseminating correct information regarding the nature of

de desarrollo tanto en reas urbanas como rurales debido a la falta de una
