BIOGRAFA
SOUTHERN ROOTS es una banda de rock bogotana, formada
en el ao 2009 por cinco amigos que se unen para hacer msica
y explorar gneros como el Blues y el Country. El propsito es
lograr un sonido diferente a lo que ofreca la escena bogotana
en ese momento.
Entre 2009 y 2010 la banda trabaja arduamente con el fin
de materializar esa indagacin musical en un producto autntico que dara como resultado Drunken Drummer, cancin
que marcara el estilo sonoro de la banda.
En los siguientes dos aos, Southern Roots se dedic a
componer material propio y a tocar en el circuito local para
mostrar su propuesta al pblico logrando aceptacin y reconocimiento.
En el ao 2013 graba su primer sencillo: Vagabond, el cual
incluira por primera vez el sonido de la armnica. Leonardo
Gonzlez, msico que participo en esta grabacin, alternara
posteriormente en algunos shows en vivo como invitado. Con
la mezcla entre el sonido fuerte y la sensualidad de la armnica, Southern Roots consolido un sonido distintivo que le
abre camino a festivales y tarimas de mayor reconocimiento.
En el ao 2014 se inicia la produccion del primer lbum
de la mano de Abel Delgado como ingeniero de grabacin y
mezcla, mientras Germn Villacorta estara encargado de
la masterizacin. El disco contendra 10 canciones originales
que reflejaran la trayectoria de la banda, incluyendo lricas
divertidas basadas en experiencias de sus integrantes, pero
al mismo tiempo plasmando el esfuerzo y sacrificio que conlleva hacer rock en Colombia.
En 2015 se lanza el primer videoclip Vagabond, como antesala del lanzamiento del primer lbum de estudio que llevara
por nombre TractoPussy, un juego de palabras que sintetiza
el poder de la banda en vivo y la presencia de las mujeres que
inspiran su sonido.

BIOGRAPHY
SOUTHERN ROOTS is a rock band that was formed in 2009 by five
friends from Bogota, Colombia. Disillusioned by what they heard
in the Bogota rock scene the guys wanted to revive the music that
they had grown up listening to with a modern twist. They felt that
the true soul of the city was either being ignored or misrepresented. They decided to combine familiar influences like the Blues,
Country and Rock & Roll but they put their own special twist on
it by turning things up a notch with adrenaline fueled instrumentation and vocals. In 2009-2010 they worked collectively to really
find their signature sound that authentically captured the essence
of city life and staying away from any watered down, uncreative
sounds that had begun to dominate the music scene in Bogota. As
a result the band came up with moniker Drunken Drummer which
they thought really captured the style and sound of the band.
In the following two years, SOUTHERN ROOTS dedicated
themselves to composing and playing new and original material
in a wide array of different venues achieving acceptance and enthusiasm from the crowd. In 2013, the band recorded the single
VAGABOND which included the harmonica for the first time. The
musician and harmonist Leonardo Gonzalez participated in the recording and performed in a few shows as a guest. By adding harmonics into the bands sound and really finding their style and swagger, SOUTHERN ROOTS created a popular yet distinctive sound
that opened the way for the band to play in several festivals and
venues of major recognition.
In 2014, the first production of a full length album began with
mixing and recording of the bands music by local producer Abel Delgado. German Villacorta was in charge of the master recordings.
The album contains 10 original songs that reflected the bands hopeful trajectory. It includes lyrics based on bandmates unique and often comical experiences. At the same time, the album reflects the
effort and sacrifice that it takes to make music in Colombia.
The band launched the first single and videoclip VAGABOND
that served as the opening salvo from their first album titled
TRACTOPUSSY. The album features inspired lyrics and musical
arrangements that often uses the double entendres to describe
the life of up and coming rock musicians
