(Near Infra-Red) y SWIR (Short Wave Infra-Red).

Abstract: This work describes a method for atmospheric correction of Landsat images in the visible, NIR (Near InfraRed) and SWIR (Short Wave Infra-Red) ranges to obtain surface reflectance values, based on the MODTRAN radiative
transfer model. This model is characterized with an atmospheric profile and with a value of aerosol optical depth. The
method has been validated with Landsat images corrected by NASA with the L8SR (Landsat 8 Surface reflectance)
algorithm and with images corrected with the Chvez method of dark object substraction (Chvez, 1988). The results
are very consistent compared with the NASA method, withRMSE values lower than 0.01 and correlations higher than 0.99
for all bands, obtaining also very similar spectral profiles.
