DESCRIPCIN

Ver tabla 3.

DESCRIPTION

MicroMATV FUTURA, Programmable Selective Amplifier System, equipped with 10 UHF filters that can be programmed in frequency and bandwidth from 1 to 6 channels. Three UHF inputs are available, allowing the signals to be distributed throughout the 10 filters. The system incorporates an AGC gain control circuit to keep the UHF signals stable. The AGC is programmable and can be activated or deactivated independently in each filter. MicroMATV FUTURA 200 and 300 models allow the 1st IF SAT signal to be processed.

By pushing the arrow, filter gain can be manualy adjusted, after carrying out the AES function. Select a new filter and repeat the previous steps until the filters are completed.

1.3. AES and AGC: Automatic Equalization System and Automatic Gain Control.

INSTALLATION AND START-UP

Connect the equipment ground point to the installation ground point (14), page 2 Controls. Connect the antennae cables to the corresponding inputs and close the free inputs, including the AUX (9) input with 75 charges (Ref. 84011). Connect the output cables to the corresponding outputs and close the outputs that are not in use with 75 charges (Ref. 84011).

Tab. 3

Automatic adjustment can be done on UHF channels by executing the AES function and maintaining them fixed in the output by activating the AGC. The system automatically detects the digital channels and adjusts them at 15 dB lower than the analogue ones when there are programmed individualy on different filters. To activate the AGC select yes. When the AGC function is activated and deactivated the system always carries out a new AES. Bear in mind the AGC restrictions. See table 3.

PROGRAMMING

Connect the UCF 200 control unit (Ref. 85100) to the programming connector (12). The display will show the presentation screen detailing the equipment model. See diagram UCF 200, page. 5. Press any arrow on the UCF 200 to get access to the main menu.

Keyboard functions

The and arrows enable us to navigate around the main menu and with the central OK key we can get access to the desired function. The values to be programmed are changed by moving the arrows and . The and enable changes to be made to the parameter to be programmed. The OK key enables the function to be validated and to return to the main menu.

1. Main Menu 1.1. UHF INPUTS configuration

Press OK to access the function. With the arrows and one of the four options can be selected depending on the number of filters connected to each one of the inputs, see Table 2 on page 5. Pulsar OK para validar y regresar al men principal.

After executing the AES function: - The equipment will indicate an error message with the filters that have not been possible to equalise indicating if the cause is due to high or low levels. - After executing the AGC function the equipment will show a message indicating the status of the AGC. - When any of the UHF signals is too high the action of the AGC is cancelled. - Filter gain can be adjusted manually, even when the AGC is activated, see 1.2 Adjustments to the UHF filters. The status of the AGC is also indicated by the letter shown on the display. See table 3.

1.2. Adjustments to the UHF filters

Tab. 4 AGC Restrictions:

AGC Adjacent Filters Multichannel Same input: UHF1 or UHF2 or UHF3 Different inputs: NO YES NO

Enables selection of the filter to be adjusted. By pressing the button the programming mode of the actual channel is accessed.

- If the same channel is programmed in two filters a message will appear indicating Error and the conflicting filter.

By pushing the key the filter bandwidth programming is accessed and by selecting a second channel we can define up to how far the filter will work.

1.4. UHF gain and FM level FM UHF GAIN

- To operate with groups of channels program the multichannel filters with the minimum width possible. 10

Select each one of the bands BIII/DAB; BI and adjust the output level, taking the UHF analogue channels as a reference. Select the FM band and adjust the desired output level: 10 dB below UHF is recommended.

1.5. Output level OUTPUT LEVEL

6. Problems and possible cause

Effect Does not allow filter gain to be adjusted. The channel configuration programmed in the MicroMATV FUTURA is not saved in the UCF 200. Possible cause AES has not been carried out. The programmed configuration has not been memorised in the MicroMATV FUTURA. Action See point 1.3 in the manual. Carry out point 1.7 in the manual.

Adjust the desired output level bearing in mind the maximum output and the total number of UHF channels, plus BIII, plus BI, plus AUX input, see Table 5. Reduce 4 dB for model MicroMATV FUTURA 300.

1.6. LNB and 1st IF SAT adjustments LNB & IF LEVEL (MicroMATV FUTURA 200 and 300)

Enables the desired voltage for the LNB to be selected: 0V, +13V y +17V. Push the key to enter into the selection of 0/22 KHz. Adjust the 1st IF SAT output level, bearing in mind the maximum level and the number of transponders, see Table 6. The voltage in the transponder with the greatest output level should be measured. The 970 MHz transponder should be some 10 dB lower than the UHF level.

Poor output quality in Very high input all channels. level. Excess output level.

See input levels in Main Characteristics, page 2 of the manual. See points 1.2 and 1.5 in the manual and comply with the values in Table 3.

1.7. Memorise and exit MEMORIZE & EXIT

Push the OK key to validate and return to the presentation screen. MicroMATV FUTURA will automatically memorise the programmed data 6 minutes after pushing the last key. From the presentation screen keep the OK key pressed for 5 seconds, the display will present the * sign on the left hand corner when this function is entered into: * MicroMATV FUTURA xxx. To save a configuration, it has to be memorised beforehand in the MicroMATV FUTURA. (See point 1.7). The UCF 200 control unit allows 8 configurations to be saved and identified with up to 12 characters. The UCF 200 control unit allows any memorised configuration to be copied and programmed onto another MicroMATV FUTURA. The UCF 200 unit enables the memorised configurations to be erased one by one. Push the and arrows and the RESET function will be activated to delete the programming: Wideband amplifiers at minimum gain, UHF Configurators to 10 0 0, UHF filters with no programmed channel and 1st IF SAT without output voltage (on models MicroMATV FUTURA 200 and 300). Flashing quickly: System start-up. Flashing quickly: AGC deactivated by the system. Permanently on: System in operation. www.fagorelectronica.com
