La bandera nacional es uno de los símbolos patrios; su día se celebra el 24 de febrero Consiste en un rectángulo dividido
en tres franjas verticales de igual proporción, de colores verde, blanco y rojo, (izquierda a derecha) ordenados a partir
del asta.

Cada color con un significado diferente: el verde simboliza la esperanza del pueblo en el destino de su raza, el blanco
representa la pureza de los ideales del pueblo y el rojo simboliza la sangre que derramaron los héroes por la patria.

En el centro de la bandera, la franja blanca, contiene un escudo, este escudo tiene su origen en el jeroglífico que usaron los
aztecas para representar la fundación de Tenochtitlán.

La leyenda narra que los Aztecas (una de las tribus indígenas más importantes que tuvo México) vivían tranquilos en
Aztlán, cuando su dios principal llamado Huitzilopochtli habló con los sacerdotes y les dijo que tenían que abandonar
Aztlán para buscar una tierra nueva donde tendrían riquezas, poder y donde nacería un nuevo pueblo; y que cuando
encontraran un águila posada en un nopal devorando una serpiente habrían llegado a la tierra prometida; después de
aproximadamente 302 años encontraron la señal y ahí fundaron Tenochtitlán y así, este acontecimiento es considerado
como la fundación de México, y por su importancia se adoptó como símbolo del Escudo Nacional.

Los estados más grandes de la República Mexicana son:

Chihuahua, Coahuila de Zaragoza, Durango y Sonora

The national flag is one of the symbols, their day is celebrated on February 24 consists of a rectangle divided
into three vertical bands of equal proportions of green, white and red, (left to right) ordered from the pole.

Each color with a different meaning: green symbolizes the people's hope in the destiny of their race, white
represents the purity of the ideals of the people and the red symbolizes the blood spilled by the heroes of the
motherland.

In the center of the flag, the white band, containing a shield, this shield has its origins in the Aztec hieroglyph
used to represent the foundation of Tenochtitlan.

Legend has it that the Aztecs (one of the major indigenous tribes that Mexico had) lived peacefully in Aztlán,
when their god named Huitzilopochtli spoke to the priests and told them to leave Aztlan had to find a new land
where they would have riches power and where a new town would be born, and that when they found an eagle
perched on a cactus devouring a snake would have reached the promised land, after approximately 302 years
found the signal and there founded Tenochtitlan and thus, this event is considered the foundation Mexico, and
its importance was adopted as a symbol of national emblem.
