2.2 Esta Norma se aplica a lodos los lugares residenciales, p6blicos, r8creacionales; asi como de trabajo a objeto de orientar y prevenir rlesgos a La salud y facilitar el control de las emergencias, a trav~s formas, simbolcis y dimensiones.

3.- DEFINICIONES

3.1 SE~AL DE SEGURIDAD.

Es el color que se usa como complemento de los colares de segu~idad.

3.4 COLOR DE CONTRASTE

Es e1 color que complementa al color de seguridad, mejora l~s condiciones de visibilidad de la se~al y hace resaltar su contenido.

3.5 SE~AL DE PROHIBICION

Es la se~al de seguridad que prohibe un compodamiento !illSceptible de p r cvo ce r un riesgo Y Sll mandato es total.

3.6 SE~AL DE ADVERTENCIA 0 PRECAUCION

E5 la seWal de seguridad que advierte de un peligro 0 de un riesgo.

3.7 SE~AL DE OBLIGACION

3.8 SEnAl DE EMERGENCIA Y/O EVACUACION

Es la se~al de seguridad que indica. la. via segura hacia la salida de emergencia. la ubicaciOn de un puntc 0 equipo de emergencia.

3.9 SEnAL DE INFORMACION

Es la seWa.l que informa sobre cualquier tema que no se refiere a seguridad.

3.10 SEnAL DE PRDTECCION CONTRA INCENDIOS.

Es la seWal de seguridad que sirve para ubiear e identifiear equipos~ materiales 0 suslaocias de protecciOn contra ineeodios.

3.11 SE~AL DE RESTRICCION 0 LIMITACIO~

Es la se~al de seguridad que limila una actiOn.

3.12 SIMBOLO (PICTOGRAMA)

Es 1a imagen que describe una situaci6n determinada y que se utiliza en las se~ales de seguridad.

3.13 TEXTO DE SEGURIDAD

Es un escrito relacionado con e1 simbo10 que aeompaWa, colocado dentro 0 fuera de la serral de segllridad, pera nunca dentro del simbolo.

3.14 SE~AL ADICIONAL 0 AUXILIAR

E5 1a seWal que eontiene exclusivamente un texto, y que puede ser utilizada conjunt.amente con la seWal de seguridad.

3.15 SEnALES FOTOLUMINISCENTES

Son <~qllellas sefrales que elrtiten Luz como con se cuen c i a de la absorci6n previa de una ooda luminosa. Este efeeto es temporal.

3.17 SEftALES CONVE~CIONALES

Son. para los efeclos de esta norma, aquellas se~ales que no son fotoluminiseentes

ni refleetantes.

Los colores de segurid~d estJn indicados en la tabla 1, donde se presenta el color y su significado, asi como ej~mplos de aplicaciones fundamentales para los citados colores.

5.1 Se emplearAn los colores blanco y negro siempre en combinaci6n con los colores dE- segltr-idad.

5.2 Se aplicarAn los colores de contraste a los simbolos que aparezcan en las se~ales. de manera de lograr un mejor efecto visual.

5.3 Los colores de contraste para las colares de seguridad estan indicados en la t.a bl c::., 2.

6.- FORMAS GEOMETRICAS DE LA~ SE~ALES DE SEGURIDAD

Las formas geometricas para las seltales de seguridad seran las indicadas en la tabla 3,

7.- SIMBOLOS

7.1 Como complementa de las se~ales de seguridad 5e usarln una serie de simbolos en e1 interior de las formas geometricas adoptadas.

7.2 La presentaciOn de los slmbolas deberA ser 10 mAs simple posible y deben eliminarse los detalles que no sean escenciales, y su dimensi6n deberi ser proporcional al tama~a de la seW.l a fin de facilitar su percepci6n y comprensi6n.

NOTA 1: En el Anexo A se presentan algunos ejemplos de se~ales de seguridad y simbolas admitidos por esta norma.

8.- TIPO~ DE SENALES SEGUN ~ LUMINISCENCIA

Las seWales de acuerdo a sU comportamiento ante la lUI se clasifican en

- Se~ales convencionales

- SeWales iotoluminiscentes

- Se~ales reflectantes

9.- ~EQUISIT9~ DE LAS SE~ALES

9.1 GENERALES

9.1.1 E1 nivel de iluminaci6n permanente en la superficie de la seWal deberA ser como minimo de 54 lux.

9.1.2 Cuando en una instalaciOn no se obtenga el nivel de iluminaci6n especificado en el punta anterior~ se deberJ emplear un alumbrado adicional a en su defecto se deberJn utilizar seWales fotoluminiscentes~ en cuyo caso el color de fondo y el de contraste correspondientes al de seguridad y del simbolo respectivamente~ podran invertirse a objeto de lograr una mejor visualizaciOn de la se~al.

9.1.3 Dentro de los simbolos no deberd colocarse texto, con la sola excepci6n de las se~ales de restricciOn.

9.1.4 El simbolo 0 texto debera colocarse en el centro de la se~al.

9.2 DE PROHIBICION

En estas seWales el color de seguridad (raja) ocupa la superficie de un situado en el borde de la se~al y una banda oblicua diametral de igual colocada a 135 grados recubriendo al menos el 3S~ de la superficie de la

9.3 DE RESTRICCION 0 LIMITACION

9.3.1 En estas sef'r'ales el color de seguridad (raja) o cupa la supe r+i ct e de un anillo situado en el borde de la sef'r'al, cura dimensi6n debera ser 1/20 del diametro.

9.3.2 El color de fonda de la se~al serA blanco~ el slmbol0 en color negro y el anillo en color rojo.

9.4 DE PRECAUCION, OBLIGACION, ADVERTENCIA

9.4.1 En estas se~ales el color de fondo sera el color de seguridad. ver tabla 1. y deber.a cubri r per 10 menos el 50 ~~ de la sef'ral.

9.4.2 El color de contraste se emplearA en el slmbolo y para un reborde estrecho cuya dimensi6n deberA ser 1/20 del lado mayor.

9.5 ADICIONALES 0 AUXILIARES

9.5.1 EI fonda de la seWal debera sar blanco y el texto en negro~ s1 bien se admite que el fonda sea del color de seguridad de la se~al a la que acompa~a y el texto en el color de contraste correspondiente.

9.5.2 Las se~ales adicionales a auxiliares deberan sal' de forma rectangular~ con la misma dimensi6n maxima que la seWal que acompaha y colocada bajo de ella. El tamaf'r'o del parrafo que conforma el texto. debera ser proporcional al area de ~sta.

9.6 DE EMERGENCIA Y/O EVACUACION

9.6.1 En estas seWales e1 color de seguridad deberA ser verde y ~e forma rE'ctdngular.

9.6.2 El color de contraste se empleri en el simbolo y para un reborde cuya dimensi6n deberi ser 1/20 del lado mayor.

9.7 DE PROTECCION CONTRA INCENDIOS

9.7.1 En sstas se~ales el color de seguridad debera ser rojo y el simbol6 en el (olo~ de contraste, siempre que se cumpla 10 establecido en el punto 9.1.2.

9.7.2 Podran ser acompa~adas de sef'l'alizaci6n auxiliar. en CllYO caso el tamaf'ro del parrafo que conforma el texto deber~ ser proporcional al Area de 101 se~al que complementa.

10.- DIMENsrpNES ~ LA~ SENALES

11.- MATERIALES

11.1 En la elaboraci6n de se~ales de seguridad no deber~n lltilizarce matriales radio~Ltivos. vidrio 0 que produzcan oxidaci6n.

11.2 En el caso de los materiales cortantes empleados en La elaboraci6n de se~ales de seguridad. estos deberan tener los bordes romos para evilar lesiones.

12.- §ERALIZACIO~ BA~ICA

12.1 Es 101 seltalizaci6n minima que debera llevar una i n s t a l ac i on .

12.2 Se deber.i seWalizar como minimo 10 siguiente:

12.2.1 Medics de escape 0 evacllaci6n seg6n 10 establecido en 101 Norma venezolana COVENIN 810.

12.2.2 Sistemas y equipos de prevenciOn y protectiOn contra incendio seg~n 10 establecido en las Normas Venezolanas COVENIN correspondientes.

12.2.4 Los hoteles deberAn utilizar el espaWol e ingl~s en sus seWalizaciones.

12.2.5 En sitios amplios donde concurra un gran volumen de visitantes deber~n coloearse pIanos de ubicaci6n y evacuaci6n (hotelss, nucleos de oficinas~ centros

comer-ciales hospitales u otros).
