SECUENCIA DIDCTICA
INICIO (15 minutos)
El docente ingresa al aula saludando, Good morning, students.
Los alumnos responden. El docente escribe en la pizarra el nombre de uno(a) de sus colegas.
Los alumnos probablemente pregunten quin es, el docente responde. Caso contrario, el docente
dice directamente de quien se trata.
El docente pregunta a sus alumnos: Do you think my colleague and I are similar or different?
Los alumnos responden segn su criterio. El docente mostrar un cuadro con actividades y como
ttulo; my colleague and me (Ver recurso 1)

El docente describe las actividades (del cuadro) que son parte de su rutina. Coloca un visto a
aquellas que si realiza. La columna del colega se queda en blanco.
DESARROLLO (55 minutos)
El docente pregunta: And my colleague?
El docente les entrega a los alumnos un texto corto en el cual describe la rutina de su colega (Ver
recurso 2)
Los alumnos leen el texto con el propsito de completar el cuadro.
El docente monitorea el trabajo mientras los alumnos trabajan. Luego de unos minutos, el docente
y los alumnos completan el cuadro, explicar el por qu si fuese necesario.
El docente utiliza el cuadro, ya completo, para crear oraciones oralmente con los alumnos
utilizando and y but
El docente seala la primera actividad del cuadro para preguntar a los alumnos: What time does
my colleague take a shower?
Los alumnos ven el texto para responder. El docente continua preguntando utilizando What
time?
Luego el docente pregunta: Where does my colleague have lunch? At work or at home?
Los alumnos responden revisando la informacin del texto. El docente realiza dos preguntas ms
utilizando Where?
Finalmente el docente pregunta:What does my colleague do in the morning?
Los alumnos responden, el docente continua preguntando utilizando What?.
El docente escribe en la pizarra; what time, where and what. Preguntar a los alumnos que
respuesta se obtiene cuando utilizamos estas preguntas:
o Where: At home, at work, at the office, in the bus.
o What time: At 3:00 pm, at noon, at 10:00 am.
o What: Take a shower, have breakfast, take the bus.

El docente dibuja un cuadro y lo completa con los alumnos.

Pedir a los estudiantes que creen 6 preguntas utilizando 2 veces cada wh-question. El docente
monitorea el trabajo de los estudiantes.
El docente agrupa a los estudiantes en pares para que se pregunten mutuamente de forma oral
utilizando las preguntas que escribieron. El docente monitorea el trabajo.
Llamar a 3 o 4 parejas voluntarias para que realicen su conversacin en frente de la clase.
Motivar a los estudiantes a utilizar los saludos y las despedidas en sus conversaciones.
Meta cognicin: El docente pide a los alumnos que discutan las siguientes preguntas en parejas:
o Is my classmate an active person?
o Does he/she have a healthy routine?
o What healthy habits does he/she have?
o Am I similar or different?

This is my colleague
This is Jose Flower, but his friends
called him Pepe. He is my colleague at
the school. Pepe is a great person and
an excellent teacher, his students
thinks he is the best. I think it is true
because he is always well-organized.
His routine is usually crazy. He does so
many things that it is unbelievable! He
wakes up at about 5 am to exercise. He
jogs in the park with his brother, both
are very athletic. After that, they return home to take a shower.
Before he drives to work, he brushes his teeth and takes yogurt
to the school. He arrives at school at 8:00 oclock; he is always on
time!
He always works with a big smile on his face; it is like he has no
problems at all. In the lunchtime, he usually eats a sandwich in
the school cafeteria and talks a lot with his colleagues like me!
When he is at home, he reads books in his studio. He needs to
read because he studies for a master degree in the university. His
degree is in Education, of course! After his reading, he is very
tired so he sleeps. He usually goes to bed at 11:00 pm.
As I said, Pepe has time to do everything like his work, his
exercises, his studies and his friendly smile.
