El mundo rural y urbano: Places

THE CITY AND THE COUNTRYSIDE (LA CIUDAD Y EL CAMPO)
Donde vives? Podras decir cosas del lugar en el que vives y de la gente que hay all en Ingls. Para
ello vamos a empezar en este tema con lo siguiente:
Algn vocabulario especfico de la ciudad y el campo, sus casas y
edificios y las personas.
El verbo to be (ser y estar) , para describir y conocer personas.

1. Places and people

Mira estas fotos. Representan distintos tipos de agrupaciones
humanas en Gran Bretaa y en los Estados Unidos. La primera a
la derecha es un grupo de casas, a menudo en el campo y sus
habitantes pueden dedicarse a labores agrcolas, pero puede ser
que se dediquen a otras cosas, como por ejemplo, trabajar en
una gran compaa cercana que emplee a sus habitantes,
dedicarse al turismo o la elaboracin de productos diversos, etc.
Es en ingls VILLAGE. La segunda foto es de una agrupacin
mayor, llamadas CITY o TOWN. En ellas sus habitantes, en
mucho mayor nmero, se dedican a muy diversas tareas. Hay
oficinas, factoras, muchos colegios, teatros, cines, etc.

I'm Cindy. I'm 19 years old. I am a top model. I work very hard. I
travel a lot. I like the cinema and dancing. I live in a small apartment
on floor 45, in a very tall building. On Saturdays I usually go shopping
with my boyfriend and later we go to the theatre or to the cinema.
I am from China but I live in England. My name is Jin and my family
has got a small hotel here. There are a lot of tourists in the summer.
The place where I live is not very big. There are 800 inhabitants. I
have got a computer. I send e-mails to my friends in China every day.

My name is Ursula. I am 80 years old. I get up very early in the morning. I haven't got a car. I
have got ten cows in my farm, they give milk. I have got three horses. They help me in the
fields. I grow vegetables and fruit. I haven't got a lot of money. I work very hard.
