CONSONANTES / CONSONANTS (I)
Como ocurre en cualquier otro idioma, hay sonidos suecos que, o bien
no existen en otros idiomas o existen sólo en uno o dos, con lo cual la
equivalencia de sonidos para quien sepa idiomas resulta más complicada. Para
perfeccionar la pronunciación en estos casos se hace indispensable la ayuda
de un profesor de sueco.
Like in any other language, there are Swedish sounds that don’t exist in
any other language or maybe exist only in one or two languages, so the
equivalence of sounds between languages is very complex. The best option to
improve pronunciation would be count on the help of a Swedish teacher.
In the present chapter we’ll talk about the most complex consonants,
we’ll study the way they must be pronounced, but we’ll study too an alternative
easier sound. Written Swedish is a homogeneous language, but in spoken
Swedish happens the opposite. Swedish phonetics change a little in some parts
of the country. For example, central Swedish is considered the most correct
pronunciation, but all Swedish pronunciations are accepted as equally correct
ones.
// - //
Ortográficamente, en sueco, corresponde a:
- Letra j
- Conjunto g + e, i, y, ä, ö
- r, l + g en la misma sílaba
- dj, gj, hj, kj,lj
International phonetic alphabet offers several symbols for this sound. There are two
symbols that are considered as the most proper for the pronunciation of the sound: // //. The
first symbol // is the correct one, but it can be replaced for // in lyric diction, an easier sound
with lots of examples in singing languages. So it can be pronounced // in a basic level and //
for a further quality level.
// is a voiced, fricative, palatal consonant sound and // is a voiced, approximant,
palatal consonant sound. You must pronounce // with a great emphasis to get a more fricative
than approximant sound. But this is easier in spoken language than in singing because the
more slow and open pronunciation in singing.
The voiceless pair of // is // that we can found in german word “ich” for example. But
// sound exists in Castilian Spanish for the letter “y” in words like “ayuda”.
Puede ser sustituido por el sonido // puesto que es así como se pronuncia en ciertas
zonas de Suecia. Además, al ser // un sonido existente en muchos idiomas, es más fácil de
pronunciar para cualquier cantante que //.
It can be replaced with // sound as it’s so the pronunciation in several areas of Sweden.
// is a sound that exists in many singing languages, so it’s easier to pronounce for singers than
//.
Uno de los sonidos más característicos y más difíciles de lograr es //. Se trata de otra
consonante coarticulada, fricativa, palatal-velar, sorda. El sonido // es una mezcla de /x/ y //
simultáneas. Es lo que le da su carácter coarticulado. Sin embargo, como ya hemos explicado
anteriormente, // es un sonido más fácil de conocer por su uso en la mayoría de los idiomas de
canto. Debido a esto y a que en distintas zonas de Suecia se usa // en vez de //, se ha optado
por el primer sonido, mucho más generalizado y conocido.
One of the most characteristic and difficult to pronounce Swedish sound is //, another
coarticulated consonant. Sound // is a voiceless, palatal-velar, fricative and coarticulated. It
means that is a mix between /x/ and // sounds. Unfortunately, // is a sound that only exist in
Swedish. It’s called sje-sound. // is a more known sound, so it is recommended replace // with
// as because the pronunciation in several areas of Sweden. // is a sound that exists in many
singing languages, so it’s easier to pronounce for singers than //.
