Sin motivación no hay aprendizaje
Según la RAE (2023) la
motivación es:
Conjunto de factores internos o
externos que determinan en parte las
acciones de una persona
Traducido al ámbito de la
conducta podemos decir
que la motivación es:
Una fuerza interna que impulsa y orienta
la actividad de los individuos hacia el
objetivo que quieren conseguir
Sin motivación no hay aprendizaje
¿Por qué es importante fomentar la motivación por el aprendizaje en el alumnado?

La capacidad atencional

Fomentar la motivación es Un alumno desmotivado tendrá

importante por las más dificultades para atender y, por
implicaciones que tiene en tanto, para memorizar

La memoria

Sin motivación no hay aprendizaje

Sin motivación no hay aprendizaje
Es determinante en el aprendizaje hasta tal punto que dos alumnos con la misma
capacidad cognitiva y las mismas habilidades, pero distinta motivación pueden
tener un rendimiento muy dispar por cómo la motivación interviene en este
proceso de aprendizaje

A su vez, a nivel cerebral la motivación tiene una gran relación con la liberación
dopaminérgica. Un alto estado motivacional produce un pico en el nivel de
dopamina lo cual favorece la atención y memoria y, por tanto, el aprendizaje

Ahora bien ¿qué tipos de motivación existen? ¿Cómo es adecuado fomentar la

motivación?

Tipos de motivación
Motivación intrínseca y extrínseca
En lo que al aprendizaje se refiere es importante distinguir entre dos tipos de motivación:

Motivación intrínseca
Es aquella en la cual el sujeto no necesita un condicionante externo para sentir motivación
1 por el aprendizaje

Por ejemplo, un bebé siente motivación por conocer y aprender el entorno y no necesita que
le den una recompensa externa para seguir aprendiendo
Motivación intrínseca y extrínseca
Motivación extrínseca
Es aquella en la cual el sujeto necesita de un condicionante externo (un objeto, un
elogio…) o una compensación. El aprendizaje en sí no es suficiente para generar
2 motivación en este sujeto

Por ejemplo, un alumno que estudia para que sus padres le regalen una consola está
estudiando por la motivación extrínseca

¿Qué es lo ideal para el aprendizaje?

Lo ideal es fomentar la motivación intrínseca en mayor medida, aunque podamos utilizar la
motivación extrínseca como apoyo y en ocasiones muy puntuales. No obstante, ¿cómo fomentar la
motivación intrínseca?

motivación en el aula
Motiva a tus alumnos
Aunque es complejo tratar de motivar al alumnado de manera intrínseca hay
condiciones que favorecen la motivación:

1 Tener un clima relajado en el aula

2 Proponer objetivos y aprendizaje significativo

Provocar disonancia cognitiva o factor sorpresa: presentar el

3 aprendizaje como un reto que les motive resolver

Generar expectativa de logro: que el alumno perciba que se

4 espera de él algo bueno, que puede alcanzar el éxito
Motiva a tus alumnos

Y, lo más importante: personalizar el aprendizaje

O, al menos, favorecer estrategias educativas que permitan personalizar al
máximo y adaptar los retos y aprendizajes a los intereses del alumnado a través
de metodologías educativas como el aprendizaje por descubrimiento
