MOVIMIENTO CIRCULAR UNIFORME
DEFINICIÓN

El movimiento circular uniforme, también conocido por sus siglas MCU, es un


movimiento que tiene una trayectoria circular (en forma de circulo) y tiene
una velocidad que cambia de dirección constantemente. Hay que recordar que
la velocidad es una magnitud vectorial, es decir que tiene dirección, magnitud y
sentido, y en un MCU la magnitud del vector velocidad si se mantiene constante,
pero la dirección a la que apunta el vector cambia de dirección
constantemente, es por eso que aunque la magnitud siempre es constante, no se
puede decir que la velocidad de un MCU lo sea.
En un movimiento circular uniforme actúan 2 velocidades y una aceleración, esta
aceleración llamada aceleración centrípeta es la que provoca que la velocidad de
un objeto en MCU cambie de dirección.

Conceptos usados en un movimiento circular
uniforme
En un movimiento circular uniforme intervienen mas magnitudes que en
otros movimientos estudiados en cinemática, como velocidades,
aceleraciones y ángulos y a la hora de resolver problemas de movimiento
circular uniforme se pedirá encontrar todo tipo de magnitud, es por esto
que es importante conocer que es cada magnitud, como funciona y en
que afecta en el movimiento.

Aceleración centrípeta (Ac) : La aceleración en un movimiento


rectilíneo hace que la magnitud de la velocidad de un objeto aumente o
disminuya, pero la aceleración centrípeta no cambia la magnitud del
objeto sino que provoca que la dirección de la velocidad cambie
constantemente, y esto es lo que provoca que un objeto tenga una
trayectoria circular.
Velocidad angular (ω) : Es la velocidad a la que un cuerpo rota sobre
un centro. Esta velocidad es la relación entre los ángulos o radianes que
rota un cuerpo alrededor de un círculo en un periodo de tiempo, por
ejemplo, si objeto da una vuelta completa en un círculo en 1 hora,
entonces la velocidad angular es de 360/h. Las unidades de medición
estándares de la velocidad angular son radianes y segundos, aunque
también se pueden utilizar otras unidades, pero por lo general y en este
artículo se usarán radianes y segundos.

Velocidad tangencial (Vt) : Es la relación entre la
longitud que recorre un cuerpo en una cantidad de tiempo,
esta es la velocidad que se ocupa en movimientos
rectilíneos, se puede expresar en millas por hora (m/h) o
en kilómetros por hora (km/h) pero en estos problemas se
por lo general se utilizan metros por segundos (m/s),
Periodo (T): Se representa por un T mayúscula y es el
tiempo que tarda un cuerpo en dar una vuelta, al ser este
una medida de tiempo se debe expresar en segundos.
Frecuencia (F): Es la cantidad de vueltas que un realiza
en un tiempo determinado, por lo general el tiempo es un
segundos, la frecuencia se representa por la letra “f” y se
expresa en Hertz (hz).

Periodo y frecuencia: Estas dos magnitudes son reciprocas, lo que quiere decir


que al multiplicarse entre ellas el resultado siempre será uno: T*f = 1, esto es útil
de conocer para definir las ecuaciones en un movimiento circular uniforme.
Fórmulas del movimiento

desarrollar de manera separada, pero estas siguen estando conectadas, para pasar de un ambiente a otro se puede hacer
conociendo el radio del circulo.
