Dear Parents and Families,

You may have heard there is quite a bit of excitement as we eagerly await Solar Eclipse Day on Monday,
April 8. Dallas ISD is gearing up for this extraordinary learning opportunity, and we anticipate many will
be drawn to North Texas to witness the full eclipse.

At our school, we're offering students the chance to experience this celestial event from our campus.
Each student will be provided safety glasses to ensure they can safely observe the eclipse. It's an
incredible opportunity for them to witness the wonders of the universe firsthand.

I also encourage you to take a moment to talk to your child about the importance of wearing these
safety glasses– they are not just accessories but essential tools to ensure their eyes are protected.

With the anticipated influx of visitors to the area, there may be some transportation delays in high-
traffic areas. In the event of bus delays, please pack your patience and utilize our transportation app for
real-time updates.

Additionally, to help alleviate potential traffic concerns, we kindly request if you need to check your
child out for any reason that day, please do so between 10:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. (Note: Students
who do not report to school on Eclipse Day will receive an absence.)

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we prepare for this exciting day. Let's make it a

made for the solar eclipse viewing period on Monday, April 8.

Estimados padres:

Es posible que hayan oído del entusiasmo a la espera del eclipse solar del lunes, 8 de abril. Dallas ISD se
está preparando para esta increíble oportunidad de aprendizaje, y anticipamos que muchas personas
vendrán al norte de Texas para ver el eclipse total.

En nuestra escuela, estamos ofreciendo a los estudiantes la oportunidad de apreciar este evento
astronómico. Cada estudiante recibirá lentes especiales para que puedan observar de manera segura el
eclipse. Es una gran oportunidad para que presencien de primera mano las maravillas del universo.

Les sugiero tomarse un momento para hablar con su hijo sobre la importancia de usar estos lentes
especiales. No son solo accesorios, sino una herramienta imprescindible para la protección de sus ojos.

Anticipamos el influjo de visitantes en el área, pueden darse algunas demoras en el transporte, sobre
todo en zonas de alta circulación. En caso de que el autobús sufra demoras, les pedimos por favor ser
pacientes y consultar nuestra aplicación de transporte para recibir actualizaciones en tiempo real.

Adicionalmente, para evitar lo más posible contratiempos por el tráfico, les pedimos por favor, si debe
recoger a su hijo temprano ese día por cualquier motivo, por favor recoja entre las 10:15 a.m. - 10:45
a.m. (Anote: los estudiantes que no se reporten a la escuela el día del eclipse recibirán una ausencia).
