It’s summer!! Ya llegó el verano, una época para salir de la rutina laboral o del estudio y y
un período perfecto para el aprendizaje de un idioma. Existen muchas palabras y
expresiones que tienen que ver con esta estación. Algunas vienen desde la antigua Roma
como la frase “The dog days of summer”. Esta expresión se usa normalmente para
hablar del periodo más caluroso del verano (julio y agosto).

 It’s the end of July, the dog days of summer – Es final de julio, hace mucho calor.

Otra frase que se suele decir mucho es: “To be off on your vacation”, que situados en el
contexto significa “estar de vacaciones”.

 Laura and George are off on their vacation in Portugal at this moment – Laura
y Jorge están de vacaciones en Portugal en este momento.

O las típicas de esta época del verano cuando estamos de vacaciones:
