2-R/ The advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has brought forth a wide array of opportunities
and benefits across various fields. However, the very power and versatility that make AI valuable
also render it prone to malicious use. From generating misinformation with deepfakes to extensive
surveillance systems, AI can be used to infringe upon individual rights and freedoms, manipulate
opinions, and carry out harmful actions. These malicious uses present us with profound ethical
dilemmas: How do we balance innovation with the protection of privacy and personal integrity?
Whose responsibility is it to regulate and monitor these tools? How do we ensure that
technological progress doesn't come at the expense of our collective safety and well-being? It is
imperative that society, in collaboration with experts, lawmakers, and the industry, proactively
address these challenges, setting clear and ethical boundaries to ensure a future where AI is used
for the benefit of all and not to the detriment of humanity.
