INTRODUCTION: WILLIAM
Good afternoon partners, today we are going to start the debate on euthanasia, let's
remember that euthanasia is Death without physical suffering and we will be in favour of the
topic.

FIRST ARGUMENT WILLIAM

Dignified death: From my point of view Euthanasia allows people to die with dignity and
to avoid a prolonged and painful death that affects their quality of life.

Muerte digna: La eutanasia permite a las personas morir con dignidad y evitar una
muerte prolongada y dolorosa que afectar su calidad de vida.

SECOND ARGUMENT XIMENA

Choice and Control- Less Suffering: I agree with William because Euthanasia gives
people the ability to decide when and how they want to end their lives, especially if they're
suffering a lot or have a severe illness.Euthanasia can help relieve pain, making life more
peaceful.

Elección y control- menos sufrimiento: La eutanasia ofrece a las personas la

posibilidad de decidir cuándo y cómo quieren poner fin a su vida, especialmente si
están sufriendo mucho o padecen una enfermedad grave.La eutanasia puede ayudar
a aliviar el dolor, haciendo la vida más tranquila.

Rules and Safety: I would like to point out that legalizing and regulating euthanasia means
there are strict rules to prevent avoid abuse of the norm., In Colombia, euthanasia was
decriminalized with Ruling C-239 of 1997, where dignified death was made known as a
fundamental and It became law on April 20, 2015.

Normas y seguridad: Quiero señalar que legalizar y regular la eutanasia implica que
existan reglas estrictas para evitar el abuso de la norma. En Colombia, la eutanasia
fue despenalizada con la Sentencia C-239 de 1997, donde se dio a conocer la muerte
digna como fundamental y se convirtió en ley el 20 de abril de 2015.

CASE XIMENA

One example in favour of euthanasia in Colombia was the case of Mrs Martha Sepulveda, a
woman diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), who decided to die with dignity
in Colombia in January 2022. After a long battle for the application of euthanasia, she
passed away at the age of 51.
Un ejemplo a favor de la eutanasia en Colombia fue el caso de la señora Martha Sepúlveda,
una mujer diagnosticada de esclerosis lateral amiotrófica (ELA), que decidió morir
dignamente en Colombia en enero de 2022. Tras una larga batalla por la aplicación de la
eutanasia, falleció a los 51 años.

Finally, we agree with euthanasia, because it helps a dignified death, relieves suffering and
respects the law.The decision is up to the individual and it is the individual's responsibility to
take it.
