Who was this Big character ?

he was comedian, broadcaster, journalist and peace mediator among others, he had
a particular way of telling truths about political figures of the country that he did
through his different humorous characters, such as dioselina tibanà, néstor elì,
godofredo cínico caspa, compañero john lenin, el quemando central, emerson de
francisco, inti de la oz and of course his most remembered character heriberto de la
calle, he completely won the hearts of Colombians leaving a great void the day he
was assassinated. Jaime Garzón was born on October 24, 1960 in Bogota.
Before starting his life in political activism and later in television, he studied at the
National University and at the Javeriana University, but did not finish his studies. He
was known for his great commitment to the change that the country needed because
he believed in the solution of Colombia's problems.
He was in popular programs such as quac The news program of R.T.I. Colombia, la
lechuza of canal caracol, and his most popular character Heriberto de la calle el
lustrabotas who conducted interviews with important people. he was accused of
having links with the FARC, but after a while his innocence was proven and his great
humanitarian work was publicly recognized.
This great journalist and humorist showed us a different way of making conscious
and critical humor, especially to generate awareness in Colombians and thus seek a
better country, until the day the news of his death impacted our country, it was on
August 13, 1999 in Bogota when the journalist Jaime Garzón was on his way to work
at Radio Net, when he was killed by two men on a motorcycle. This sad news
caused demonstrations of rejection especially in Bogota, in addition to the
indignation that showed the guild of journalists in the news, was also accompanied
by thousands of people who appreciated him to the cemetery.it should be clarified
that at present it is not known who are directly responsible for his death.
