Cámara Gesell para fines Académicos como herramienta de las carreras afines a la
psicología.

Absrtract: In the educational field, we need tools for the professional preparation of future professionals. According to
Salamea (2015), "From a pedagogical standpoint, competencies constitute a resource for professional training with an
emphasis on effectiveness, equity, and quality ". The Gesell camera is a tool used in the educational context for the
observation and evaluation of behaviors, skills, and interpersonal dynamics (Crais & Crain-Thoreson, 2016; Martin &
Fabes, 2009). This tool consists of two rooms separated by one-way glass, allowing observers to see and hear what
happens in the observed room without being seen or heard by the participants (Martin & Fabes, 2009). Its use has
extended to the study of child development, interaction between children and adults, evaluation of educational programs,
teacher training, and educational research (Crais & Crain-Thoreson, 2016; Pianta, La Paro, & Hamre, 2012). The
Gesell camera provides an opportunity for objective and detailed observation of behaviors and interactions in an
educational environment (Pianta et al., 2012). This allows valuable information to be obtained about academic
performance, social skills, language, and other aspects of students' development (Crais & Crain-Thoreson, 2016;
Stuhlman & Pianta, 2009). In conclusion, the Gesell camera has become a valuable tool in the educational field,
providing the opportunity for observation. With this preamble, the implementation of a Gesell camera within the institute
will allow for the proper training of students, ensuring the development of competencies through the observation-practice
modality offered by this tool. Through this study, the benefits that this tool will present for psychology-related careers will
be verified by its utilization (Translated from Spanish).
