Salario Mínimo y Jornada Laboral en Inglaterra: A partir del 1 de abril de 2021, el salario mínimo en el Reino
Unido para empleados mayores de 23 años es de £8,91 / hora (bruto), o alrededor de 10,47€ / hora (bruto). En
Reino Unido la jornada completa máxima puede llegar a ser de 48 horas a la semana, aunque en función del
colectivo puede verse modificado. No obstante, lo normal es que las jornadas sean de una media de 40 horas
semanales. Los contratos a tiempos parcial también son frecuentes.

Teniendo en cuenta que 1 euro equivale a 4.600 pesos colombianos, podemos notar que la hora laboral en
Inglaterra vale más o menos 9 veces lo que vale la hora laboral en Colombia.

Tasa de Desempleo en Colombia: El Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadística (Dane) informó

que, en todo 2020, la tasa de desempleo en Colombia cerró en 15,9%, lo que representó un aumento de 5,4
puntos porcentuales frente a 2019 (10,5%).

Según lo anterior es fácil notar que en Colombia tenemos más del triple de desempleo con respecto a
Inglaterra, esto sumado al apartado anterior, nos genera una preocupación grande frente a la situación laboral
de nuestro país.

regarding the labor situation in our country.
