Adverbs modify verbs by telling us how we do something
Los adverbios modifican los verbos diciéndonos cómo hacemos algo.

She works quietly / They write clearly
Ella trabaja calladamente / Ellos escriben claramente

Many adverbs are formed by adding LY to the adjective

A few words, like fast, hard, late and low, take the same form as both adjectives and adverbs.

The comparative form of a one-syllable adjective adds er. (de Una solo sílaba)
La forma comparativa de un adjetivo de una sílaba agrega er.
Young - Younger Fast - Faster
Joven - Más jóven Rápido - Más rápido
Smart - Smarter Short - Shorter.
Listo - Más Listo - Corto - Más corto

The comparative form of adjectives with more than one syllable uses more.
La forma comparativa de adjetivos con más de una sílaba se usa más.

Expensive - More expensive Difficult - More Difficult
Caro - Más caro Difícil - Más difícil

However, two-syllables adjectives that end in Y or OW add er, the Y is changed to I before the er is added.
