DESCRIPCIN DEL CURSO

Estudio, anlisis y evaluacin de los diversos marcos histricos-filosficos y fundamentos de la Educacin Fsica. Se discute el origen y evolucin de la Educacin Fsica a nivel mundial y de Puerto Rico. Se habr de aclarar los conceptos bsicos de la educacin fsica y su rol en el currculo de la educacin general. Se enfatizar en los modelos filosficos de la educacin del movimiento y su trayectoria hacia los modelos filosficos de competencia deportiva. Este curso requiere experiencias clnicas.

JUSTIFICACIN
El marco histrico-filosfico es necesario para el maestro de educacin fsica, de manera que pueda analizar las tendencias evolutivas de una profesin de cambiantes filosofas y posiciones educativas. La trayectoria de una profesin tan especializada como sta requiere un proceso de instrospeccin en tiempo y espacio para poder establecer futuras proyecciones profesionales. Este es un curso requisito para la certificacin de maestros del Departamento de educacin..

Definir los conceptos de educacin fsica, salud, recreacin, educacin, juego, deporte y cultura. Mencionar la base cientfica de la educacin fsica. Identificar la importancia que tiene la educacin fsica a nivel curricular. Reconocer que la educacin fsica es parte del programa de la educacin general. Integrar otras dimensiones en la educacin fsica,a saber: la psicologica, social y biolgica. Reconocer la importancia del proceso de evaluacin y "assessment" en el campo de la educacin fsica. Evaluar la reforma educativa en Puerto Rico y su impacto en la educacin f'sica. Identificar diferencias comparativas entre programas tradiciones y modernos de la educacin fsica.

Discutir los siguientes enfoques filosficos: naturalismo, existencialismo, pragmatismo, idealismo, realismo y humanismo. Aplicar la filosofa personal de la educacun fsica en el diseno curricular de programas de educacin fsica y en actividades deportivas. Redactar su propia filosofa de la educacin fsica. Identificar la terminologa, conceptos y enfoques de la filosofa y su aplicacin a los programas de educacin fsica. Aplicar los modelos filosficos en la preparacin de programas para mujeres y personas necesidades especiales. Identificar lderes sobresalientes y aplicar sus enfoques filosficos a los procesos de ensenaza-aprendizaje de la educacin fsica. Aplicar los enfoque filosficos de las civilizaciones griegas a los movimientos de la educacin fsica y el deporte. Identificar aquellos componentes de los modelos filosficosque influyeron en el desarrollo del currculo de la educacin fsica en Puerto Rico

Establecer la diferencia entre la educacin fsica de una sociedad primitiva y las naviones orientales antiguas. Aplicar la contribucin de las culturas asiticas e indias en el desarollo de actividades de movimiento. Sealar lo que tenan en comn la educacin fsica de Grecia y la de Roma. Identificar los aspectos ms importantes de la educacin fsica en la Edad Media. Comparar los enfoque medievales y los tiempos modernos y cmo stos afectan las tendencias educativas actuales. Mencionar las caractersticas sobresalientes de la educacin fsica durante la poca del feudalismo. Elaborar un recuento histrico de la educacin fsica en Inglaterra y Europa. REGLAS DEL CURSO Y EXPECTATIVAS DE LOS ESTUDIANTES

PROYECTOS Y FECHAS LMITES: 1. Las asignaciones y proyectos especiales deben ser entregados en la fecha establecida de lo contrario, por cada da de retraso se le restarn 10% al trabajo escrito. 2. Los trabajos escritos deben estar limpios y lebles (preferiblemente a maquinilla). De no ser as, el trabajo puede ser devuelto o restado puntos. REPOSICIN DE TRABAJOS Y EXMENES: 1. En caso de una enfermedad prolongada, favor de comunicarse con su maestro o compaeros de clase para las asignaciones y/o exmenes. 2. Se repondrn exmenes solo a estudiantes con una excusa aceptable; el examen repuesto ser diferente y con preguntas de discusin adicionales. 3. De copiarse un trabajo escrito o examen, podr ser penalizado con un cero ("0"). NORMAS DE ASISTENCIA Y TARDANZAS:

1. Los estudiantes tienen 4 ausencias permitidas excusables (2 ausencias permitidas por cada crdito). 2. Por cada 3 ausencias adicionales de las permitidas, se reducir una letra a la nota obtenida al finalizar el semestre. 3. Tres (3) tardanzas ser equivalente a una (1) ausencia. 4. Se le cargar una tardanza en una clase a todo estudiante que llegue diez (10) minutos despus de la hora que comienza la clase, sin excusa. OTRAS NORMAS: No se permite: 1. 2. 3. 4.
