Milu
Design by Jm crochet designs
Hi! This is Milu, the Christmas kitty. This nice little kitty dreamed
of becoming a Santa’s helper. Despite the advices and believes of those who
told her it was impossible for a cat to work for Christmas, Milu believed in
herself and followed her dream, she really wished for it until… guess
what?! Her wish came true!
Milu is 26 cms from ears to feet if you crochet her in similar cotton yarn as
mine. I have use approx 90grs of yarn and 70grs of fiberfill.
The information provided concerning yarn, color, etc. are only a reference.
Feel free to play and make Milu with different materials and colors.
To make her, work in spiral, with continuous rounds, don’t close with sl st.
Put a stitch marker in the first stitch of each round. In case you have to
crochet in circles, I will let you know. I will also indicate if you have to
work in rows turning the work and using a chain.
To make Milu you have to use single crochet in all her body. This pattern
contains magic rings, simple increases, double increases and simple decreases.
Tapestry technique will be used in her dress and hat. The difficulty level is
medium.
I hope you enjoy making Milu as much as I did. I tried to write this pattern
as detailed as possible. If you have any doubts, questions or suggestions, feel
free to write me through all ways available in JM Crochet Designs I will
leave at the end of the pattern.
I’d love to see photos of your finished Milu. You can post it in any social
media, but please tag JM Crochet Designs (me, Ale) as the design author.
Finally, let’s work!

Making Milu’s head.

A small tip:
In order to the pieces of Milu’s head to
be symmetrical, use the chain at the
start of the head as a guide.
1- The eyes should be centered on round
8 with 10 stitches of separation.
2- Embroider eyebrows on the rounds 5
and 6 on top of the eyelids and
eyelashes
3- Embroider the nose on the round 9 of
the head.
4- Sew the ears on the round 1 of the head.
5- Sew the spots on the upper part of the head, between both ears.
Remember that these instructions are only a guide, so feel creative and add
a personal detail to it.

.
Body:
Milu’s body is made with white and ecru yarn and a 3mm crochet hook.
We’ll start the body joining the legs we
have already made before. The Left
leg (L) will be the first leg we made and
the Right leg (R) is the last one made and
the one we did not close.
1- Start with R leg and work 4ch for
the crotch. Now join L leg with 1sc
on this leg and continue crocheting
around that leg with 17sc

Continue working 4 SC on each CH of

thecrotch and 18 SC on the R
leg. Finish by working 4 SC on the 4 CH. (44)

Attach a stitch marker on the next sc to indicate the start of the round 2.

tail for sewing them to the body.
Now, let’s sew! You can now join all Milu’s body parts.
Dress:
Using red, green and White yarn and a 3mm crochet hook. You’ll need these
colors to form a designed border.
Work in rows, making a ch at the end and then turning the work.
Start the dress with a rounded yoke.
In the 2 rows that form the designed border, you’ll have to work with the
tapestry technique, closing and cutting the yarn at the end of each row. by
doing this, the design will be straight.
If you want to know what this Tapestry crochet technique is, you can find a
guide with step by step images on my Instagram and Facebook pages.

1- Start the yoke by working 25 CH, ch, turn. Work 25 SC (25), turn.
2- 3 SC, 7 CH, skip 6 P and join 1 SC in the 7th st. This way, we make an
opening for the arms. Continue with 6 SC in the front of the dress, 7 CH, skip 6
P again and 1 SC on the 7th stitch. Finish by working 2 SC (27), turn.
3- 1 SC, 1 INC, 1 SC, 7 SC crocheting around the chs, (1 SC, 1 INC) x 3, 1 SC,
7 SC crocheting around the CHs, 1 SC, 1 INC, 1 SC (32) turn.
4- 1 sc, (4 sc, 1 inc) x 6, 1 sc (38)
5- a 8- 38 sc (38)
9- 1 sc, (8 s , 1 inc) x 4, 1 sc (42)
10- a 13- 42 sc (42)
14- 1 sc , (9 sc, 1 inc) x 4, 1 sc (46)
15- a 18- 46 sc (46)
19- 1 sc, (10 sc, 1 inc) x 4, 1 sc (50) Close, in order to continue with the designed
border.
The next rows will be worked only on the right side of the dress, this means
the right side of the dress should always face you.
20- Using White, 50 SC (50)
21- Start with tapestry. Using White and green make (1 SC with white,

1 SC with green) repeat around (50)

You have finished your designed border! Now change to red, continue working
on the right side of the work and turn on each row.
22- y 23- 50 sc (50)
24- 50 sl st (50) Do not turn
25- Continue working crocheting from the last SC of the last round to give a
better finish to the sides of the opening of the dress on the back.
Start with 22 SC on the first side (1 SC on each available space). Continue
with 25 SL ST on the start of the yoke. Finish with 22 SC on the second side
and 1 SL ST in the first st of the round.
If you want to attach a button, you can make a buttonhole on the second
side you crocheted but making 5 ch at the 11th sc of the side and continue
crocheting.

Dress pocket:
Milu’s dress pocket is mad of ecru and green yarn. Use a 3mm hook.
1 10 ch, 1 ch, 10 sc (10) Turn
2 a 5- 1 Ch, 10 sc (10) Turn
At the end of the row 5, do not turn the work and crochet around the
pocket.
6- 28 SC on the 4 sides of the pocket, 1 SL ST in the first SC of the R (28) Close
and leave a long tail for sewing.
Finally, on the top of round 5, using green, work 10 SL ST (1 SL ST on
each SC). Close and fasten off

Hat:
Using red, White and green yarn and a 3mm hook. White and green will be
used for the brim.
1- mg, 6 sc (6)
2- (1 inc) x 6 (12)
3- a 5- 12 sc (12)
6- (2 sc, 1 inc) x 4 (16)

26- (7 sc, 1 inc) x 4 (36)
27- a 29- 36 sc (36)
30- (8 sc, 1 inc) x 4 (40)
31- a 32- 40 sc (40)
33- (9 sc, 1 inc) x 4 (44)
34- 44 sc (44)
35- (10 sc, 1 inc) x 4 (48)
36- 48 sc (48)
37- (11 sc, 1 inc) x 4 (52)
38- 52 sc (52) 1 SL ST in the first sc of the round. Close.
38- 52 sc (52) 1 PE en el primer PB de la vuelta. Cerramos.
Work the brim of the hat by using the tapestry technique. Just like you did
with the dress, work only on the right side of the work. The opening of the
hat should be facing you

39- with White make 52 SC BLO (52)

40- Use the tapestry technique: with white and green (1 SC with white,
1 SC with green) repeat around (52)
41- Continue with white, 52 SC (52)
42- and 43- 52 SC (52) 1 SL ST in the first SC of the R. Close and fasten off. Fold
the brim upwards.
Attach a pompon to the tip of the hat
and voilà!
Pañuelo:
Using green and a 3mm hook:
1- Work 40 CH, 1 CH, 32 SC, 3 CH for an
eyelet, skip 2 CH, 6 SC (41) Close.
Now work a triangle on the scarf. For this,
work only on a part of the strip you just
made. Use stitch markers: attach the first
one on the second sc at the right of the
eyelet and from that stitch count 8 to the
right and attach the second marker

Start at the first stitch on the right, 1 CH,

1 SC, 1 HDC, (1 DC, 1 CH, 1 DC ) in the same
stitch. Then continue with 1 HDC, 1 SC, 1 SL
ST. Finish off
You’re ready !!! Milu, the Christmas kitty is finished and ready to go out to

Cookie
Design by philomena
Once upon a time, there was an old lady that could never have children on
her own and one day near Christmas she decided to make a boy-shaped
ginger cookie. She made arms, legs and head for it and she decorated it with
sweets and frosting. When she opened the oven door she realized the cookie
had come to life.

Assembly

Assemble the body parts as shown on

the images. Sew the muzzle between
rounds 39 and 50.
Tip: Use pins to fix the parts of the
body before sewing them. It will be
easier and they will be in their
correct place
Do not fully stuff the long part of the horns, but do it in the thicker part
because you have to attach the cable or pipe cleaner. If you use a cable, I
recommend using also a bent pipe cleaner to finish stuffing and for it to
have a better shape.

Bend the tips of the cables for them to be safer. Sew the horns and then sew
the ears just below them

Sew the tail; check it is in the correct spot to place the belt on top of it.
Then join the belt ends to attach it.

Attach the nostrils with pins and then sew them. You can also glue them.
Cut the felt eyes and glue them. Leave it dry completely before continuing.
Once dried, embroider the eyebrows.
Lastly, attach the hat. Sew it only if you want.

We’re done! You have finished your Ronni, the reindeer! Don’t’ forget t tag me
if you make him using @allcrochet on Facebook and @allcrochettt on
Instagram so I can see your work!

I hope you enjoy it a lot!!!
