La historia del arte es una disciplina perteneciente a las

humanidades y las ciencias sociales, que estudia la

evolución del arte desde su origen hasta la actualidad.
Además, se basa en estudios de análisis de las
expresiones artísticas del ser humano y las diferentes
técnicas y manifestaciones artísticas de cada una de las
épocas.

En un principio no se le dio importancia al arte, hasta

finales del siglo XIX cuando se creó la disciplina de la
historia del arte y con el paso de los años se han ido
creando nuevas metodologías y enfoques propios. Cabe
señalar que la historia y el arte comparten muchas
relaciones y vínculos entre sí.
Los pintores que marcaron huella son:

Jean-Louis-Ernest Meissner (1815 - 1891) fue el pintor

francés más famoso del siglo XIX. Pasaba de 10 a 12
horas diarias en su estudio practicando su oficio y fue la
precisión de su pintura lo que le forjó su reputación como
artista, así como su fortuna.

Leonardo da Vinci fue un polímata florentino del

Renacimiento italiano. Fue a la vez pintor, anatomista,
arquitecto, paleontólogo, artista, botánico, científico,
escritor, escultor, filósofo, ingeniero, inventor, músico,
poeta y urbanista.
