Sexo: implica tocarse a sí mismo o a otra persona en maneras que estimulen los sentimientos
sexuales y el placer.
Género: Grupo al que pertenecen los seres humanos de cada sexo, entendido este desde un
punto de vista sociocultural en lugar de exclusivamente biológico.
Familia: Grupo de personas emparentadas entre sí que viven juntas.
Ciclo vital: Hace referencia al proceso de crecimiento y desarrollo que atraviesan las personas
desde el nacimiento hasta su muerte.
Natalidad: Número proporcional de nacimientos en población y tiempo determinados.
Fecundidad: capacidad que un ser vivo tiene para reproducirse y a su vez permiten que la
especie se mantenga sobre el plantea.
Multigestante: Es cuando una mujer ha tenido varios embarazos en el correr de su vida, esto
quiere decir que no es primeriza.
Primípara: Que pare por primera vez.
Multípara: Que ha tenido más de un parto.
Presentación fetal: describe la manera en la que está colocado el bebé para salir por el canal
del parto para el alumbramiento.
Posición fetal: Relación entre el dorso del feto y el diámetro longitudinal del abdomen materno.
Situación fetal: Relación que se establece entre el eje longitudinal del feto y el de la madre.
Altura uterina: corresponde con la distancia que hay entre una de las articulaciones de la
pelvis (la sínfisis pubiana) y el fondo uterino
Parto: Proceso por el que la mujer o la hembra de una especie vivípara expulsa el feto y la
placenta al final de la gestación; consta de tres fases: la fase de dilatación, la de expulsión y la
placentaria o de alumbramiento.
Feto: Embrión de los mamíferos placentarios y marsupiales, desde que se implanta en el útero
hasta el momento del parto
Recién nacido pre termino: todo recién nacido vivo con menos de 37 semanas de gestación
Recién nacido a término: significa que el bebé ha desarrollado todos sus sistemas y está listo
para nacer, esto se logra idealmente alrededor de la semana 39 de embarazo
Mortinato: cuando un bebé muere en el útero durante las últimas 20 semanas del embarazo.
Embrión: Ser vivo en las primeras etapas de su desarrollo, desde la fecundación hasta que el
organismo adquiere las características morfológicas de la especie.
Mastalgia: Opresión, sensibilidad o dolor agudo en uno o ambos senos que ocurre
comúnmente y, por lo general, no implica nada malo
Dispareunia: Dolor genital persistente o recurrente que se produce justo antes, durante o
después del coito.
Polimenorrea: Alteración en los ciclos menstruales que provoca periodos más cortos, menores
a los 21 días.
Fetocardía: La frecuencia cardíaca fetal o fetocardia de feto humano son los latidos del
corazón en un minuto.
Menstruación: Proceso fisiológico por el que las mujeres y las hembras de ciertas especies
animales expulsan periódicamente por la vagina un óvulo maduro no fecundado con sangre y
otras materias procedentes del útero.

Sex: involves touching yourself or another person in ways that stimulate sexual feelings and
pleasure.
Gender: Group to which human beings of each sex belong, understood from a sociocultural
point of view rather than exclusively biological.
Life cycle: It refers to the growth and development process that people go through from birth to
death.
Fertility: the ability that a living being has to reproduce and in turn allow the species to remain
on the planet.
Pregnancy: State of the female that carries an embryo or fetus in the uterus.
Multigestant: It is when a woman has had several pregnancies in the course of her life, this
means that she is not a first time.
Fetal presentation: describes the way the baby is positioned to exit through the birth canal for
delivery.
Fetal position: Relationship between the back of the fetus and the longitudinal diameter of the
maternal abdomen.
Fetal situation: Relationship established between the longitudinal axis of the fetus and that of
the mother.
Uterine height: corresponds to the distance between one of the joints of the pelvis (the pubic
symphysis) and the uterine fundus
Parturition: Process by which the woman or the female of a viviparous species expels the fetus
and the placenta at the end of the gestation; It consists of three phases: the dilation phase, the
expulsion phase, and the placental or delivery phase.
Induced labor: consists of the stimulation of uterine contractions during pregnancy before labor
begins on its own to achieve a vaginal delivery
Intervened delivery: Assisted with the use of therapeutic procedures that alter its physiology
Dystocic delivery: That which requires medical instruments and intervention for the baby to be
born.
Fetus: Embryo of placental and marsupial mammals, from implantation in the uterus to the
moment of delivery
Preterm newborn: all live newborn with less than 37 weeks of gestation
Newborn at term: it means that the baby has developed all her systems and is ready to be
born, this is ideally achieved around the 39th week of pregnancy
Stillbirth: when a baby dies in the womb during the last 20 weeks of pregnancy.
Embryo: Being alive in the early stages of its development, from fertilization until the organism
acquires the morphological characteristics of the species.
Mastalgia: Acute tightness, tenderness, or pain in one or both breasts that occurs commonly
and usually does not involve anything wrong
Dyspareunia: Persistent or recurring genital pain that occurs just before, during, or after
intercourse.
Fetocardia: The fetal heart rate or fetocardia of human fetus is the heartbeat in one minute.
Gestational weeks: is the common term used during pregnancy to describe how far along the
pregnancy is.
Menstruation: Physiological process by which women and females of certain animal species
periodically expel a mature egg unfertilized with blood and other materials from the uterus
through the vagina.
