Si establecemos la condición inicial y(0) =-1, entonces al sustituir x=0 y Y=-1 en la familia

tres diferencias:
• Considerada como una función, el dominio de y= 1/ (x2 - 1) es el conjunto de todos los
números reales x para los cuales y (x) está definida, excepto en x=-1 y en x =1. Véase la fi

• Considerada como una solución de la ecuación diferencial y’+ 2xy2=0, el intervalo I de
definición de y=1/(x2-1) podría tomarse como cualquier intervalo en el cual y(x) está definida
y es derivable. Como se puede ver en la fi gura 1.2.4a, los intervalos más largos en los que y
=1/ (x 2-1) es una solución son (-∞, -1), (-1,1) y (1, ∞).
• Considerada como una solución del problema con valores iniciales y’ + 2xy22= 0, y (0) =
-1, el intervalo I de definición de y=1/(x2 - 1) podría ser cualquier intervalo en el cual y(x)
está definida, es derivable y contiene al punto inicial x=0; el intervalo más largo para el
cual esto es válido es (-1, 1). Véase la curva roja en la fi gura 1.2.4b.

4. Resolver el ejercicio 11 de la sección 1.2.

Un sistema dinámico es un sistema cuyo estado evoluciona con el tiempo. Los sistemas
físicos en situación no estacionaria son ejemplos de sistemas dinámicos, pero también existen
modelos económicos, matemáticos y de otros tipos que son sistemas abstractos que son,
además, sistemas dinámicos. El comportamiento en dicho estado se puede caracterizar
determinando los límites del sistema, los elementos y sus relaciones; de esta forma se pueden
elaborar modelos que buscan representar la estructura del mismo sistema.
Al definir los límites del sistema se hace, en primer lugar, una selección de aquellos
componentes que contribuyan a generar los modos de comportamiento, y luego se determina
el espacio donde se llevará a cabo el estudio, omitiendo toda clase de aspectos irrelevantes.
Ejemplos:

El físico Rutherford y sus colaboradores probaron que los átomos de ciertos elementos
radiactivos son inestables y que, en un intervalo de tiempo dado, una fracción fija de los
átomos se desintegra espontáneamente para formar un nuevo elemento. Ya que la
radiactividad es una propiedad del átomo, Rutherford demostró que la descomposición de

La desintegración radiactiva como la dinámica poblacional tienen un modelo de ecuaciones
común. Una constante de decaimiento como se le conoce en desintegración radiactiva, y es
el mismo modelo que utiliza el crecimiento exponencial en dinámica poblacional. Por esta
razón se puede decir que su fórmula o ecuación es muy parecida.

Los parámetros que intervienen en la formulación de las ecuaciones de Lagrange son los
siguientes:
- Energía cinética total del sistema: suma de las energías cinéticas de las partículas.
- Energía potencial total del sistema: suma de las energías potenciales de las
partículas.
- Coordenada generalizada: cada grado de libertad del sistema se expresa
mediante una coordenada generalizada.
- Fuerzas generalizadas: en esta versión del texto no hace falta definirlas, pues se
considera únicamente el caso conservativo que simplifica las ecuaciones.
El subíndice va desde hasta , por lo que éstas son ecuaciones (siendo el número
de grados de libertad del sistema), la resolución de estas ecuaciones nos darán el estado
del sistema en todo instante.

3 Teoremas de conservación
Cada simetría en la función lagrangiana de un sistema implica una ley de conservación. Estas
simetrías se deben a las coordenadas cíclicas.
Una coordenada cíclica es aquella que no aparece en la lagrangiana, puede ser una
coordenada generalizada o una velocidad generalizada.
Las tres propiedades de simetría más importantes son:
