Definición 1 (Espacios T1 )
Decimos que un espacio topológico (X, τ ) es un espacio T1 , o de Fréchet si ∀x, y ∈ X,

Teorema 1 (Equivalencias)
Sea (X, τ ) un espacio topológico Son equivalentes:
i. (X, τ ) es T1 .

Demostración 1
• (i. ⇒ ii.) Supongamos que (X, τ ) es T1 y sean x, y ∈ X con x 6= y. Por hipótesis,
existe Ux ∈ τ tal que x ∈ Ux y y ∈

Decimos que un espacio topológico (X, τ ) es un espacio T2 , o de Hausdorff si

Si (X, τ ) es un espacio T2 , entonces es T1 ya que si x, y ∈ X con x 6= y, existen Ux y Uy
abiertos tales que x ∈ Ux , y ∈ Uy y Ux ∩ Uy = ∅, luego y ∈
/ Ux .
Teorema 2 (Equivalencias)
Sea (X, τ ) un espacio topológico Son equivalentes:
i. (X, τ ) es T2 .

• (i. ⇒ ii.) Supongamos que (X, τ ) es T2 y sean x, y ∈ X con x 6= y. Por hipótesis,
existen Ux , Uy ∈ τ tales que x ∈ Ux y y ∈ Uy y Ux ∩ Uy = ∅. Como Ux , Uy son
abiertos, existen Bx , By ∈ β tales que x ∈ Bx ⊂ Ux y x ∈ By ⊂ Uy . Por tanto,
Bx ∩ By = ∅.
Ejemplo 1
i. El espacio topológico discreto (X, τdis ) siempre es T2 y, por lo tanto T1 .
