CONDICIONAL EN INGLES: 5 TIPOS

Para hacerlo más fácil, hablaremos solo del primer y segundo condicional.

PRIMER CONDICIONAL Y SEGUNDO CONDICIONAL – FORMAS Y USOS

El primer condicional habla de situaciones que vemos posibles o probables. Hablamos de algo que
puede pasar en el futuro.
If + present simple, will + infinitive

If you marry him, he’ll be very happy.

If it rains, we’ll stay home. But if the weather’s nice, we’ll go to the beach.
If you wash the dishes, I’ll clean the living room.
If she asks me, I’ll help her.

El segundo condicional puede hablar de las mismas situaciones, pero las vemos menos probables de
ocurrir, por lo tanto la segunda parte de la frase es también improbable.
If + past simple, would + infinitive (el "past simple" aquí se traduciría como pasado de subjuntivo)

If I you washed the dishes, I’d clean the living room. (I don’t really expect you to wash the dishes.)
If she asked me, I’d help her. (It’s improbable that she’ll ask me.)
If you married him, he’d be very happy. (You don’t intend to marry him.)
If I had a dog, I’d have to walk it every day.
If I were taller, I’d be a profesional basketball player. (In fact I’m only 1.83m.)
If I had more time, I would learn Arabic. (But I work 60 hours a week.)

Podemos hacer las frases condicionales de las dos siguientes maneras:

If he lived in Paris, he would study art = He would study art if he lived in Paris.
If he earned a better salary, he would move to the suburbs = He would move to the suburbs if he earned a
better salary.

CONDICIONAL TIPO 3 = Past perfect y Perfect conditional:

If you had been with us, I wouldn’t have cried.  Si hubieras estado con nosotros, no habría llorado.
If you had sung, you would have won.  Si hubieras cantado, habrías ganado
