2. Propósito
- Apreciado estudiante, el propósito de esta guía es que comprenda cuando debemos utilizar el Simple
Present y el uso que le demos en una conversación.
- Además, es de gran importancia que sepamos utilizar la gramática al escribir una frase, un párrafo un
texto determinado, conociendo el uso de los auxiliares do / does.

- Otro aspecto bien importante es utilizar las reglas básicas del Simple Present en una conversación o al
escribir frases de uso cotidiano.

3. Desarrollo cognitivo instruccional

RULES OF SIMPLE PRESENT FIRST PART

Verb Conjugation & Spelling

We form the present tense using the base form of the infinitive

(without the TO). In general, in the third person we add 'S' in the

third person.

- The spelling for the verb in the third person differs depending on the ending of that verb:

1. For verbs that end in -O, -CH, -SH, -SS, -X, or -Z we add -ES in the third person.

 go – goes
 catch – catches
 wash – washes
 kiss – kisses
 fix – fixes
 buzz – buzzes

2. For verbs that end in a consonant + Y, we remove the Y and add -IES.

 marry – marries
 study – studies
 carry – carries
 worry – worries

NOTE: For verbs that end in a vowel + Y, we just add -S.

 play – plays
 enjoy – enjoys
 say – says

AUXILIAR DO / DOES
OF SIMPLE PRESENT
SECOND PART

El verbo to do en español se traduce como hacer. Dependiendo del pronombre con que se conjugue, este
verbo cambia. Si se conjuga con I, you, we y they, simplemente es do. Pero si se conjuga con he, she e it,
pronombres en tercera persona singular, se escribe does, así:
 Por ejemplo:

A: I do my homework. She does her

Yo hago mi tarea. Ella hace su tarea.

La forma en tiempo pasado de do es did, y su pasado participio es done.

Como verbo auxiliar

Este verbo también cumple funciones de verbo auxiliar para crear preguntas y para negar algo en presente y en
pasado simple. Veamos:

Preguntas:

El verbo to do o does se usa como auxiliar para hacer preguntas con verbos en presente y pasado simple,
excepto si en la oración también está presente el verbo to be. Cuando do funciona como auxiliar interrogativo,
va al inicio de la oración o entre la Wh Question y el sujeto de la oración.

a. De acuerdo con el video escribe 5 oraciones utilizando los siguientes verbos. (haz las oraciones en
tercera persona)

3) What does he eat?

4) Why do they play at this hour?

5) What does she teach today?

b. Con ayuda de tu familia has 10 oraciones utilizando el auxiliar Do / Does.

1) She does read the newspaper every day.
2) We do come to school by bus.
3) You do work very hard.
4) She does like to sit in the sun.
5) He does watch his son in the park.
6) We do try to arrive on time.
7) We do play in the park every day.
8) He does walk to school.
9) We do eat together every day.
10) I do speak several foreign languages.
