I landed in Mexico on August 3rd. I was super excited about this semester. The school I was
studying at was supposed to be very good. They told me the food is great in Mexico. They said
the people are very nice.

One night, I went to my first ever latin american party.

Una noche, fui a mi primera fiesta latinoamericana.

There were people everywhere. There were a lot of food. There were people in every corner,
drinking, talking, smiling, laughing.

Había gente por todas partes. Había mucha comida. Había gente en cada esquina, bebiendo,
hablando, sonriendo, riendo.

There was a big pool. There was a bar next to the pool.

I went to the bar to grab a drink. The bartender asked me if I wanted tequila or rum. I chose
tequila.

Fui al bar a tomar una copa. El camarero me preguntó si quería tequila o ron. Elegí tequila.

I looked at the trees behind the pool. I saw that they had put up piñatas in the trees. I saw that
all the piñatas had the shape of Donald Trump. I started to laugh. He looked like a potato.

Empecé a reír. Parecía una patata.

I got excited about hitting the piñatas because I had never done it before. Piñatas are not typical
in my country.

After a few hours, the party stopped because it started raining. A lot… Everybody ran to hide in
the party tents. The people were drunk. They started singing songs, and they kept singing for
hours. The rain didn’t stop. This was my first latin american party in my life. I loved it.

Empezaron a cantar canciones, y
siguieron cantando durante horas. La lluvia no paró. Esta fue mi primera fiesta latinoamericana en
mi vida. Me encantó.
