Es uno de los mecanismos más básicos y utilizados

en multitud de libros ya que es adaptable para
realizar mecanismos múltiples.
Es una figura simétrica que se colocada en paralelo
al eje central y se levanta al abrir la página.

It is one of the most basic mechanisms used in many

Podemos escalarla al tamaño que queramos pero

TIRADOR DE MARIPOSA / BUTTERFLY HANDLE

Es uno de los tiradores más interesantes que se

pueden hacer ya que el contenido cambia al tirar
como si de una persiana se tratara.

Tiene un pasador interior, que es la pieza A, por

donde se desliza la pieza y también le hace de
A tope. La página base tiene una ventana y una raja
para sacar el tirador. Lo importante es que el
contenido está partido ya desde el principio. Se ve
claramente con la diferenciación de los colores. Se
hace partiendo las imágenes o gráficas y colocando
una en la parte trasera y otra en la pieza del tirador.

CUBO 45 GRADOS / CUBE 45 DEGREES

Es un cubo con un ángulo de 45 grados desde el

eje central, a diferencia del otro cubo que se
encuentra en los ejercicios. Da mucho juego ya que
podemos alargarlo hacia un eje y logramos llenar
las hojas aún más que si fuera con el eje con un
ángulo de 90 grados. Este ángulo también permite
que ninguna de sus caras tenga una curva en el
centro.

It is a cube with an angle of 45 degrees from the

central axis, unlike the other cube found in exercises.
It gives a lot of play since we can lengthen it towards
an axis and we managed to fill the leaves even more

A En A tienes que hacer un ángulo de 45 grados para
dividir la figura con un pliegue. Todos los cubos
deben ser del mismo tamaño. El empujador tiene la
misma altura que los cubos. Si quieres hacer una
figura más alta, es muy simple. Lo haces con
rectángulos y haces la parte A del mismo ancho y
haciendo el mismo pliegue a 45 grados. Entonces
obtendrás un rectángulo.

RUEDA EFECTO ÓPTICO / OPTICAL EFFECT WHEEL

Este mecanismo genera energía si hay una interac-

ción. Estos elemento bidimensionales son perfectos
para generar animación en las páginas ocupando
poco espacio.

This mechanism generates energy if there is an

interaction. These two-dimensional elements are
perfect for generating animation on pages taking up
little space.

En este caso la pagina está troquelada con unas

ondas y la rueda tiene las mismas ondas pero en
sentido opuesto, por eso al girarla generan ese
efecto. El mecanismo es sencillo. La rueda tiene un
agujero y hay una pequeña pieza circular A. Que
funcionará de unión del disco a la hoja.

In this case, the page is stamped with waves and

Son piezas de papel dispuestas de forma horizontal

con pliegues paralelos entre sí, y paralelos a la
página.
Estas construcciones pueden dar mucha altura a los
diseños y ocupan poco al plegarse.

MECANISMO DE PICO / PEAK MECHANISMS

Estas ingenierías son muy utilizaras para realizar

bocas de animales o para simular algo que se
cierra.

These engineering companies are very used to make

animal mouths or to simulate something that closes.

FUNCIONAMIENTO / FUNCTIO NING

Son dos triángulos equiláteros sin punta. Lo bueno

es que ambas figuras son la misma con la diferencia
de un escalado. Se pueden hacer simétricas si se
quiere. Las puntas están cortadas y estas se utilizan
como pestañas.

They are two equilateral triangles without ends. The

good thing is that both figures are the same with the
difference of a scale. They can be symmetrical if you

CILINDRO/ CYLINDER

Esta figura necesita un ángulo de apertura de 180

grados para que funcione. Da mucho volumen y
nos puede dar mucho juego en nuestras composi-
ciones.

TThis figure needs a 180 degree opening angle for it

to work. It gives a lot of volume and can give us a lot
of play in our compositions.

B Para realizar esta figura a mano tendríamos que
formular, para evitarlo te voy a contar un truco. Lo
G mejor es que traces una circunferencia en una hoja.
=G Una vez la tengas, coge un hilo y rodea toda la
E F circunferencia, esa medida que te da es E+F.
Para el resto has de saber que A, B, C y D son iguales
y E y F son iguales entre si también.
El empujador tiene la misma altura que G.

To make this figure by hand we would have to

RUEDA CON FLECHA / WHEEL WITH ARROW

Mecanismo bidimensional que funciona al girar la

rueda. Tiene un elemento superior que es el único
que se muestra en la hoja y dependiendo cómo se
coloque puede generar diferentes efectos.

Two-dimensional mechanism that works by turning

the wheel. It has a top element that is the only one
shown on the sheet and depending on how it is
placed it can generate different effects.

La base tiene un agujero pequeño por el que se

mete el pasador de enganche que está pegado en
la rueda de debajo. Es un mecanismo muy sencillo
que puede ser muy atractivo.

Es una de las figuras que mejor funciona. Es un

cubo en paralelo al eje central. Se adapta muy bien
a las aperturas de páginas enteras 180 grados. Si
colocas con unas pestañas el mecanismo de tienda
consigues una casa.

It is one of the figures that works best. It is a cube

A,B,C,D,E y F deben ser iguales para que esta figura

ESPIRAL DE PAPEL / PAPER SPIRAL

El papel troquelado también puede animar mucho

nuestras creaciones. Al ir cada lado de la espiral
pegado en un parte del pagina hace que la figura
aunque sea plana llene todo nuestro diseño de una
manera muy orgánica.

Die cut paper can also greatly animate our crea-

tions. As each side of the spiral is glued to one part
of the page, it makes the figure, even if it is flat, fill
our entire design in a very organic way.

Aquí las medidas y la forma la limitan el principio y

el final de la figura. Hay que mirar que cerrada no
sobresalga de la base. La recomendación es pegar
el centro de esta espiral centrada en la hoja izquier-
da para que no se salga y que luego peguemos el
otro extremo cerrando la hoja y así se pegará sin
tener tensión.

Esta es una figura que funciona muy bien. Se utiliza

mucho también para combinarla con otras inge-
nierías ya que puede ser una buena cúpula para
edificios. .

sencillo para reproducir esta figura en la escala que
E G quedamos es hacer 4 triangulos equiláteros
F concéntridos uniendo las puntas superiores.
Después poner solapas a dos de ellos y los que
quedan libros llevan un doblez en el medio. Viendo
A B la figura verás que resulta mucho más sencillo que
explicándolo.

Son dos ruedas, una más grande y otra más peque-

ña que giran a la vez gracias a que están pegadas
entre sí. Ambas desaparece por el troquel de la
hoja superior. Van enganchadas con un pasador
que va pegado únicamente a la parte posterior de
la página frontal.

Es una plataforma en forma de M. Las plataformas

se utilizan muchísimo en todos los diseños. La parte
delantera y la trasera está cubierta y está libre por
los laterales.

Es una ingeniería muy vistosa que funciona cuando

ejercemos energía sobre ella. Puede darle mucho
dinamismo a nuestras composiciones.

La pieza A es el tirador que va reforzado. En este
F A caso mide 12 cm de alto x 4,5 de ancho. B,C y D es

D hacia fuera para que haga zic zac y así funcione el
E mecamismo. B tiene de largo 4,5 cm y C y D 2,5.
Las piezas E son las que se pegan encima de este
tirador. Es donde colocamos la gráfica que quere-
