Diálogo 2, PAST LIVES

J: hola Sergio , como estuvo tu fin de semana? Hi Sergio, How was your last weekend?

S: hola Jhessica, estuvo genial. fui a la playa con mi familia , nos divertimos un monton ,
comimos ceviche , jugamos vóley, nadamos en el mar hasta cansarnos, y por ultimo cuando ya
oscureció cantamos alrededor de una fogata. Hi Jessica, it was great, i went to the beach with
my family, we enjoyed it a lot, then we ate ceviche, we swam on the sea and finally on the night
we sang around the wood fire.

J: me alegra , en cambio yo , solo estaba en mi cuarto viendo televisión, ¡yo estaba aburrida! ,
pero bueno , quizás mi fin de semana no estuvo como el tuyo pero anoche yo fui a bailar a una
discoteca con mis amigos de la universidad. I am glad to hear that. I was alone in my bedroom
seeing televisión. I was bored! Well….maybe my weekend wasn´t like your weekend but the
last night I went to a disc with my university´s friends.

S:y como estuvo la fiesta de anoche And…..How was your party last night?

J: estuvo fantástico, celebramos el cumpleaños de mi mejor amiga. It was fantastic, we

celebrated the birthday of my best friend.

S: que bien y cuando y donde has nacido? That sounds good. Where were you born?

J: yo naci en arequipa en el hospital Honorio, pero yo crecí en Ayacucho, I was born in

Arequipa, but I grew up in Ayacucho.

Ahora por ejemplo yo no vivo con mis padres, yo solo vivo con mi hermano, pero cuando toda
mi familia estaba junta eramos felices. Si bueno Y ¿ tú donde has nacido? For example now I
don´t live with my parents, I only live with my brother, but when all of my family’s members
were together we were happy…..and you, where were you born?

S: yo naci en ….. ……(complemento de tu vida) I was born in Mollendo and I grew up there
with my mother and the rest of my family.

J:bueno sergio yo quiero pedirte un favor, necesito que me prestes un billete de 10 soles, o
tambien puede ser en monedas , lo importante es que sea de el valor de 10 soles. Well
Sergio….I need a favor from you….I need you to lend me 10 soles, it can be in coins or a note.

S: ok, yo justo recordé que te debía 5 soles , bueno ahora tu me debes 5 soles. Ok, I just
remember that you gave me 5 soles before. Now you lent me 5 soles.

Ayer te vi por la plaza de armas con un chico , con quien estabas? Yesterday I saw you with a
boy in the Main Square. Who you were with?
J:gracias por el favor, si ayer estaba paseando con mi hermano. El estaba aburrido en casa y le
dije que salgamos y si, ayer salimos. y tú que estabas haciendo ayer también en la plaza?
Thanks for the favor, and yes, I was walking with my brother. He was bored in our house so I
tell him if we can went outside and he says yes. And you, what was you doing yesterday in the
Main Square?

S: yo estaba esperando a mi enamorada para ir a comer a un buen restaurante. I was waiting for
my girlfriend because we had to go to a restaurant.

J: y ¿a donde fueron? ¿cómo se llama dicho restaurante? Where did you go? What’s the name of
that restaurant?

S: fuimos a el restaurante “buen sabor” We went to a restaurant called “Buen Sabor”.

J: si lo conozco tambien, una vez fui con mi enamorado ahí pero no nos gustó la atencion de los
meseros sin embargo el sabor de los platillos son exquisitos. I visited it too….I remember when
I went to that place with my boyfriend, but we didn´t like the attention of the waiters, but the
taste of their food was good.

S:si , ella y yo lo disfrutamos. Yes, we think the same as you.

J:ME ALEGRA. It´s good.

S: la primera semana de este mes de febrero llegó a Arequipa los juegos mecánicos. Did you
hear about the mechanic games? They came to Arequipa the first week of february.

J: siiii, yo fui el último viernes. tú fuiste? Yes, I went to that place the last friday. Did you go
there?

S:no, aun no he ido. Pero mi hermana si fue. Le gustó mucho un juego llamado espace loop. Not
yet, but my sister went there. She liked a lot one of those games. It´s called Space Loop.

j: yo odio ese juego, recuerdo que casi me desmayo ahí. I hate that game, I was close to faint
there.

S:que terrible. Oh, that´s bad.

J: si , fue muy terrible pero aun asi me gustó mucho. Yes, it was horrible but I liked it anyway.

S: el ultimo sábado fuiste a jugar carnavales en cayma? Last saturday Did you went to play
carnavales in Cayma?

J: no , no fui porque el último sábado llovió terriblemente. No, i didn´t. Because that day the
rain was too much.
S:ah si cierto, mi familia y yo si fuimos, pero estábamos tiritando de frio por el clima. You´re
right. My family and me went to Cayma but the weather was cold.

J: si, eso es terrible. Yes, that´s terrible.

S:si, fue terrible pero tambien fue divertido. Yes, but it was fun too.

J:ok

S: tu estudiaste para el examen final del ingles. Did you study for your english final exam?

J: si yo estaba estudiando y repasando y tú? Yes, I was studying. And you?

S: yo con el poco tiempo que tuve si estudié. I had a bit of time but I study a lot too.

J:entonces el examen estaba fácil o difícil? So….Was the exam easy or hard?

S: estaba fácil porque si estudié. It was easy because I studied a lot.

J: fantastic Sergio.

S:see you later , recordé que tengo una cita en media hora. I remember that I have a date in half
an hour.

J: ok, nos vemos otro dia. Ok see you later Sergio.
