Dear Parents and Guardians,

Attached to this letter is an infographic that all of my students have received on the

importance of News and Media Literacy. This will be very important to continue building their

skills as digital citizens. This will be covered heavily while they work on writing papers and citing

their information found. Not only will this help build their ability to find and use reliable

sources, it will be extremely helpful for those that decide to continue into college. In knowing

how to properly use reliable sources and proper media will help with not only their work in

school, but also outside of the classroom. As we are all aware in our current age, the use of

social media has led greatly to a large spread of misleading and false information. In being a

good digital citizen, our students should be able to know the difference between what is a

reliable source and what is not. The link to the infographic is attached as well for your

Estimados Padres y Guardianes

A esta carta se adjunta una infografía que todos mis estudiantes han recibido sobre la

importancia de las Noticias y la Alfabetización de los Medios de Comunicación. Esto será muy

importante para seguir desarrollando sus habilidades como ciudadanos digitales. Esto se tratará

en gran medida mientras trabajan en la redacción de documentos y citando su información

encontrada. Esto no sólo ayudará a construir su capacidad para encontrar y utilizar fuentes

confiables, será extremadamente útil para aquellos que deciden continuar en la universidad.

Saber cómo utilizar adecuadamente fuentes confiables y medios adecuados ayudará no sólo

con su trabajo en la escuela, sino también fuera del aula. Como todos somos conscientes en

nuestra era actual, el uso de las redes sociales ha llevado en gran medida a una gran difusión de

información engañosa y falsa. Al ser un buen ciudadano digital, nuestros estudiantes deben ser

capaces de conocer la diferencia entre lo que es una fuente confiable y lo que no lo es. El
