Los intervalos

entre dos notas”. En el Ejemplo 1-1 se ven
los intervalos desde el semitono/segunda
menor hasta la octava, con base en C central. Arriba
de cada intervalo se coloca el término más común,
junto con algunos términos alternativos.

Cuando se invierte un intervalo:
• el tono mayor se convierte en menor Ejemplo 1-3
• el tono menor se convierte en mayor

y el intervalo y su inversión deben sumar nueve.

denominar “cuatro y medio”, por lo tanto, w

Consejos prácticos: Intenta cantar los intervalos, tanto ascendentes como descendentes. Canta la
melodía (la “cabeza”) de los standards, el bebop y otros temas de jazz mientras
escuches los discos.
