INTRODUCCIÓN
El concepto de infecciones de la piel y los tejidos blandos (IPTB)
hace referencia a un conjunto de cuadros clínicos cuyo espectro
varía desde leves piodermias hasta graves infecciones necrosan-
tes que pueden comprometer la vida del paciente. Se consideran
infecciones complicadas las que afectan a planos profundos,
requieren desbridamiento quirúrgico o se acompañan de comor-
bilidad significativa.

Afectan principalmente a la fascia y a los planos musculares. A
