Abstract

Below it is shown a series of studies related to the Artificial Intelligence applied to the

engineering field of study.

At the very first part, a philosophical introduction to the AI is given, trying to proof if a

machine can think, whereas it passes the Turing Test or not. Thus, we refer to experiments to

computers so we analyze if they are certainly able to think.

Immediately Artificial Intelligence is defined circumscribed to our knowledge, as well as the

evolution of the computer and how still it is evolving to get the right way of thinking to be

categorized as a thinking being.

Then, we review the impact of AI nowadays in any Engineering, how automation is ruling

the world and its benefits.

As the antagonist of the previous chapter, the risks of AI may carry on are introduced in order

to create consciousness.

Finally, reflexing about the enormous future AI has, some questions such as whether it will

be good or bad or if we will overcome the present obstacles, come to mind. All of this and

more will be developed thoroughly in this last but not least chapter.
 Resumen

Se presentan los estudios referidos a la Inteligencia Artificial o IA por sus siglas, en el

campo de la ingeniería.

Al inicio se muestra un enfoque filosófico que cuestiona si un computador puede pensar, así

como pruebas al computador retando su ‘razonamiento’ para ver si los resultados encajan con

los de la prueba de Turing.

Seguidamente se define la inteligencia artificial, así como la evolución del computador y

como este sigue mejorando para poder tener un razonamiento adecuado que pueda realizar

tareas más difíciles que lo catalogarían como ser pensante.

Luego se revisa como la IA actualmente se está desenvolviendo en campos relacionados a la

ingeniería, como estos promueven la automatización y sus beneficios.

Como el antagonista del capítulo anterior, presentamos los riegos que la IA puede llevar

consigo en un fututo o incluso actualmente.

Finalmente, se reflexiona acerca del gigantesco futuro que tiene la IA, como está mejorará,

¿será para bien o para mal?, ¿se superarán los obstáculos actuales? Todo esto y más se

desarrollará en este último, pero no menos importante, capítulo.
