 Adverbs of frequency
Se usan con el presente simple para expresar la frecuencia con que hacemos algo.
Siempre van entre el sujeto y el verbo excepto con el verbo to be con el que van detrás.

always (siempre) usually (normalmente) often (a menudo) sometimes (a veces) never (nunca)

I always go to work by car. (Siempre voy al trabajo en coche)

Ann often plays tennis. (Ana juega a tenis con frecuencia)

They usually have dinner at 8 o’clock. (Ellos habitualmente cenan a las 8)

You sometimes go to the cinema. (Tú vas a veces al cine)

My friend never goes to a restaurant. (Mi amiga nunca va a restaurantes)

He is always late for school. (Él siempre llega tarde a la escuela)

It is often very cold in winter. (En invierno a menudo hace frío)

I am usually at home in the evenings. (Normalmente estoy en casa por las tardes)

 Making questions

Para hacer preguntas en presente simple con las partículas interrogativas ponemos el
interrogativo en primer lugar y a continuación el auxiliar do o does seguido del sujeto y del
verbo principal.

When do you have lunch? ¿Cuándo comes?

Where does she work? ¿Dónde trabaja ella?
En el caso de to be y to have got, no necesitan el auxiliar do/does por lo que ponemos la
partícula interrogativa al principio e invertimos el orden del sujeto y el verbo.
Who is your English teacher? ¿Quién es tu profesora de inglés?
What have you got in your schoolbag? ¿Qué tienes en tu mochila?

Who lives in this house? My family.
¿Quién vive en esta casa? Mi familia.

WHAT: Qué
What do you drink? I usually drink water.
¿Qué bebes? Normalmente bebo agua.

WHERE: Dónde
Where have you got your car? I always have it got in the garage.
¿Dónde tienes tu coche? Siempre lo tengo en el garaje.

WHEN: Cuándo
When do you go to the swimming pool? I never go to the swimming pool.
¿Cuándo vas a la piscina? Nunca voy a la piscina.

What’s the time? It’s eight o’clock.
¿Qué hora es? Son las ocho en punto.

What time do you get up? I get up at half past seven in the morning.
¿A qué hora te levantas? Me levanto a las siete y media de la mañana.

HOW: Cómo
How do you go to work? I often go to work by bus.
¿Cómo vas al trabajo? A menudo voy al trabajo en autobús.

HOW OFTEN: Con qué frecuencia

How often do you have dinner in a restaurant? I sometimes have dinner in a restaurant.
¿Cada cuánto tiempo vas a cenar a un restaurante? A veces ceno en un restaurante.
