beber agua, levantar objetos, producir sonidos, comunicarse, bañarse, defenderse,
ELEPHANT STRUCTURE
Elephants inhabit tropical forests, savannas and grasslands in regions of Africa such as Congo,
Ghana, Gabon, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Kenya, Somalia, Namibia, Mozambique, Tanzania,
Zimbabwe, Mauritania and Liberia to name a few. In Asia, we can find specimens in Bangladesh,
Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, among others.
ELEPHANT DESCRIPTION
They are the largest land animals in the world, being the largest African elephant since it can
weigh up to 7,000-7,500 kg. Females are usually smaller.
The elephant's trunk that contains 100 thousand muscles and tendons, plays a very important and
necessary role for his life. With it you can catch, breathe, feed, smell, drink water, lift objects,
produce sounds, communicate, bathe, defend yourself, protect yourself and detect other
members. They also have very large and strong tusks made of ivory that can weigh up to 120 kg
and are three meters long in extreme cases, although they are commonly less than one meter
ELEPHANT BEHAVIOR
Its social structure is complex and surprising, but varies with gender. They usually form
matriarchies of up to 25 members accompanied by offspring. In contrast, adult males are solitary
or rarely form small, unstable groups. They leave the maximum family size at 15 years of age.
When they reach very advanced ages, before they die they instinctively seek water to settle in and
wait for the time to come.
When a herd of elephants is in front of a corpse of some of them, they come to smell and touch
the remains as a sign
