THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS.
They are electronic or electromechanic devices
of luminous signaling, by which the circulation of
automobiles and pedestrians is regulated in the
crossways. They can be: train, cycle-way,
automobile, pedestrian, and special ones.
1. Automobile and Cycle-way traffic light. It
regulates the transit in crossways and it uses
three colors: red, yellow, and green. They mean:
--Red: It means “stop.” The driver must do it
without invading the zone destined for
pedestrians, known as “zebra crossing.”
--Yellow: It is preventive. It indicates that there
will be a change from red to green or from green
to red. It means “get ready” or “be careful.”
--Green: It indicates that the way is free and that
you can continue transiting. It means “go.”
2. Pedestrian traffic light. It regulates the
transit of pedestrians in the crossways:
--Red silhouette: It indicates that crossing is
prohibited.
--Green silhouette: It indicates that crossing is
permitted.
TRAFFIC SIGNS.
The traffic signs are messages that indicate
permitted actions, restrictions, and prohibitions
to the users of the way, including pedestrians,
drivers, or passengers.
1. Regulatory signs. They indicate the
authorizations, limitations, prohibitions, and
restrictions on the way. Not following them is an
infraction. Generally, they are circular, with a
white background and a red border, and the
symbol black. When they have a diagonal red
line, they indicate a prohibition.
2. Preventive signs. They warn the users about
the existence of a danger on the way.
3. Informative signs. They identify the way and
guide the user.

LOS SEMÁFOROS.
Son aparatos electrónicos o electromecánicos de
señal luminosa, por los que la circulación de
automóviles y peatones es regulada en las
intersecciones. Pueden ser: de tren, de ciclo-ruta,
de automóviles, de peatones, y especiales.
1. Semáforo de automóviles y de Ciclo-ruta.
Regula el tránsito en intersecciones y usa tres
colores: rojo, amarillo y verde. Significan:
--Rojo: Significa “pare”. El conductor debe
hacerlo sin invadir la zona destinada para
peatones, conocida como “paso de cebra”.
--Amarillo: Es preventivo. Indica que habrá un
cambio de rojo a verde o de verde a rojo.
Significa “alístese” o “sea cuidadoso”.
--Verde: Indica que la vía está libre y que se
puede continuar transitando. Significa “siga”.
2. Semáforo de peatones. Regula el tránsito de
peatones en las intersecciones:
--Silueta roja: Indica que cruzar es prohibido.
--Silueta verde: Indica que cruzar es permitido.
SEÑALES DE TRÁNSITO.
Las señales de tránsito son mensajes que indican
acciones permitidas, restricciones y
prohibiciones para los usuarios de la vía,
incluyendo peatones, conductores o pasajeros.
1. Señales reglamentarias. Indican las
autorizaciones, limitaciones, prohibiciones y
restricciones en la vía. No seguirlas es una
infracción. Generalmente son circulares, con un
fondo blanco y un bordo rojo, y el símbolo negro.
Cuando tienen una línea diagonal roja, indican
una prohibición.
2. Señales preventivas. Advierten a los usuarios
sobre la existencia de un peligro en la vía.
3. Señales informativas. Identifican la vía y
guían al usuario.
