THAT WILL BE AN IMMENSE EXPLODING IN YOUR
escribir un libro con sangre de pájaro. Ya está. HEART)
Bluebird is not a book. Bluebird is life. Bluebird, additionally, is
Luna Miguel not just any life, but rather that of a writer. Many think that a
Barcelona, España, 2015 writer can also be an “anyone,” and there are many in the world
that decide to proclaim themselves as such without the having
such gift. Here, in these pages, resides a not-anyone. A heart that
matters, that we must follow and that we must heed. Vicente
Forte is who gives life to these words that I have not yet spoken
but which I am now talking about. Vicente Forte the not-anyone,
the yes-writer, the yesathousendtimesyes-withhisbluebird-
scratching his chest.
Many also think that talking about birds is very easy
because for centuries the smallish and winged animal has without
a doubt been the best friend of man; but it is a lie, because it
takes a big heart for the animal’s wings to fit in and chirp its
song. The song of Forte inevitably sounds like the secret whim
of Charles Bukowski, but also has the rumble of water falling
in cascades in a half Chinese landscape. Buddhism. The eastern
verse impregnating gum and dog shit, and also a mountain of
immortal poets, who die, anyways.
There are too many things here and all are too beautiful
and too short and too intense as only are the things that are
worthwhile. I have read Bluebird three or four times and discover
in each reading a small crystal that nails me in the eyes and
makes me bleed. Man is the only animal capable of stumbling
two —a thousand— times* over the same verse and hurting their
consciousness. My conscience tells me to read another two —
thousand— times* to understand what poetry is today and what
is the spirituality of our time.

I swear I’ve enjoyed it, oh yes, I’ve enjoyed it. Here is Buk,
yes, the grand Buk, but it also has echoes of Bolaño, and why not
say, a refined Alt Lit, and why not also say, a Christophe Tarkos
who plays between acts to write a book with bird’s blood. That’s
it.
I close my mouth and leave you with this thing that I
swear is not a book, or yes, but is a life, or no, but what I want
now is for you to read. Look how it spreads its wings. Look how
it challenges. Fucking look at it, and you will love it.

*These two sentences refer to an expression in Spanish that goes “El hombre es el
único animal que tropieza dos veces con la misma piedra” which literally translates as
“man is the only animal that trips twice over the same stone.” This means that man is
the only animal capable of making the same mistakes twice.
