Palabras clave: Abuso sexual, Infancia, Victimizacin, Psicopatologa, Consecuencias a largo plazo.
The main aim of the present study is to offer an update of the long-term consequences of child sexual abuse found in current empiri-
cal studies in the last decade. Psychological symptoms were classified as follows: emotional problems, relationship problems, functio-
nal problems, adaptation problems and sexual problems. Results confirmed the serious difficulties developed by these victims through
the years. Psychologists need to know these problems to detect sexual abuse and effectively intervene with its victims.
Key words: Sexual abuse, Childhood, Victimization, Psychopathology, Long-term consequences.
