ANLISIS DE LAS NORMAS CHILENAS RELACIONADAS CON

CORROSIN DE ACERO Y SU PROTECCIN

RESUMEN
El objetivo del presente trabajo fue hacer un diagnstico sobre las
medidas de prevencin, control y mantenimiento que se tienen en Chile
para el buen funcionamiento de las estructuras de acero descubierto o
de hormign armado, relacionado con el riesgo de corrosin.
El punto de partida del estudio, fue el anlisis de las normas chilenas
que tienen relacin directa o indirecta con la corrosin de acero1.
Posteriormente se investig sobre las fallas ms frecuentes en las
estructuras portuarias de Chile, en donde se ha debido destinar
importantes recursos monetarios a la reparacin de estas instalaciones
daadas por corrosin.

ABSTRACT
The object of the present paper was to diagnose about the
measurements for prevention, control and maintenance that have been
applied in Chile for the acceptable performance of the exposed steel
structures or reinforced concret, in relation with the risk of corrosion.
The first step was to analyse chilean standards that have direct or
indirect relation with the steel corrosion.
Afterwords, the more frecuent failures in port estructures in Chile were
investigated, where important amounts of money are expended to repair
corrosion damaged structures.
