Traveling Leagues Goals & Objectives

South West Metro League (SWML)

Primary Goal: To play in a league that allows all players to compete regardless of skill set Play teams in South Metro area Other programs have seen success with parity leagues Players at all levels work together to improve skills All players will get same skills and drills practices All players will get same opportunity with PLHS coaches
PLAY will have 3-5 teams per grade depending on player and coach signup numbers 6th 7/8 games/7th 7/8 games/8th 8/9 games Compete against other teams in SWML: Edina, Chaska, Chanhassen, Eden Prairie and Shakopee Parity league 20-25 players per team

6th/7th/8th Grade Program

Playing time goal is to play each player as much as possible for their position, size, and abilities to best develop the player P.L.A.Y. playing time minimums (Not a SWML rule):

Each Player will start at a position in either the first or second half (offense or defense). One exception is if they are alternating with another player running in plays. Each Player will play a minimum of 10 plays (special teams is included) This minimum may be reduced due to disciplinary actions, missing practice, and lack of effort. If there is reduction due these reasons the coach will discuss with player prior to the reduction. A player does NOT have to have an offensive and defensive position
