REFLECTIONS

“If there is no meditation,

then you are like a blind
man in a world of
great beauty, light and color”
- Krishnamurti
“To realize your true nature,
you must wait for the right moment
and right conditions.
When the time comes, you are
awakened as if from a dream.
You understand that what
you have found is your own and
doesn’t come from anywhere outside.”
Meditation transforms us---

Meditation enlarges our perspective, allows

us to see the world and ourselves more
clearly, less judgmentally, and more
compassionately.
“If your mind isn’t clouded by
unnecessary things, this is the
best moment of your life.”
- Wu-Men
“When you meditate there should be
no effort to control and no attempt to
be peaceful.

Do not be overly solemn, or feel that

you are taking part in some special
ritual.
Let go even of the idea that
you are meditating.
Let your body remain as it is
and your breath as you find it.”
- Sogyal Rinpoche
“In your everyday life you can practice meditation
by taking any routine activity that normally is only a
means to an end and giving it your fullest attention, so
that it becomes an end in itself.
For example, every time you wash your hands, pay
attention to all the sense perceptions associated with the
activity:
the sound and feel of the water, the movement of your
hands, the scent of the soap, and so on.
Be totally present. There is one certain criterion by which
you can measure your success in this practice: the degree
of peace that you feel within.”
- Eckhart Tolle
Give up waiting as a state of mind.
When you catch yourself slipping into waiting…
snap out of it.

Come into the present moment.

Just be , and enjoy being.
If you are present, there is never any need for you to wait
for anything.
So next time somebody says, “Sorry to have kept you
waiting,”
you can reply, “That’s all right I wasn’t waiting. I was just
standing here enjoying myself—in joy in my self.”
– The Power of Now, Eckhart Tolle
“Whatever you do, don’t shut off your pain;
accept your pain and remain vulnerable.
However desperate you become, accept your
pain as it is, because it is in fact trying to
hand you a priceless gift:
the chance of discovering through
spiritual practice, what lies behind sorrow. “
- Sogyal Rinpoche
The less we are attached to life, the more
alive we can become.
The less we have preferences about life, the
more deeply we can experience and
participate in life.
Embracing life may be more about tasting
than it is about either raisin toast or
blueberry muffins.
– RN Remen, MD
Be alive in
every moment,
and by waking
up yourself,
you will wake
up the world.
– Thich Nhat Hanh
Are you worried?
Do you have many “what if” thoughts?
You are identified with your mind, which is projecting
itself into an imaginary future situation and creating
fear.
There is no way that you can cope with such a
situation, because it doesn’t exist.
It’s a mental phantom.
You can stop this by simply acknowledging the
present moment.
All you ever have to deal with is this moment.
Ask yourself what “problem” you have right now, not
next year, tomorrow, or five minutes from now.
“Life was never meant to be a
struggle, just a gentle
progression from one point to
another, much like walking
through a valley on a sunny
day.”
- Stuart Wilde
Meditation is the practice by which
there is constant observation of the
mind.
It means focusing the mind on one
point, stilling the mind in order to
perceive the SELF.
By stopping the waves of thought
you come to understand your TRUE
NATURE and discover the wisdom and
tranquility that lie WITHIN.
Pay more attention to the silence than the
sounds.
Paying attention to the outer silence creates
inner silence: the mind becomes still.
A portal is opening up.
Every sound is born out of silence.
Silence enables the sound to be.
It has been said that nothing in this world is so
like God as silence.
All you have to do is pay attention to it.
Silence without, stillness within.
“ Happiness and spiritual growth are connected.

Being peaceful and being happy form the most

important foundation of spiritual practice.

Then the practice goes by itself. “

- Mother Meera
“Within myself was the calmness of
the bottom of a deep and
unfathomable lake.

Like the lake I felt that my physical

body with its mind and emotions could
be ruffled on the surface,

but nothing, nay nothing could disturb

the calmness of my soul.”
- J. Krishnamurti
Is there a difference between
happiness and inner peace?
Yes.
Happiness depends on conditions
being perceived as positive;
inner peace does not.
I have learned to allow the present moment to
be and to accept the impermanent nature of all
things and conditions.
Thus have I found peace.
– Buddhist Monk
Create No More Pain in the Present.
Nobody’s life is entirely free of pain and sorrow. Isn’t
it a question of learning to live with them rather than
trying to avoid them?
Realize deeply that the present moment is all you
ever have. Make the NOW the primary focus of your
life.
The present moment is sometimes unacceptable,
unpleasant or awful.
It is as it is. Allow the present moment to be. Accept,
then act.
Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as
if you had chosen it. Always work with it, not against
it. Make it your friend and ally, not enemy. This will
miraculously transform your life.
Surrender to each moment, to the reality of that
moment.
Knowing that what is cannot be undone – because it
already is – you say yes to what is or accept what isn’t.
Then you do what you have to do, whatever the situation
requires.

This is the state of acceptance.

No more suffering, no more unhappiness.

You then live in a state of nonresistance,

World Inside My Heart
You created rules for a better world
But you found a way to break them
Because they made you suffer
But you keep on not being free
But you still keep on suffering
In our hearts we find our pain… our
freedom… our rules.”
- Mohicans
“We give thanks for places of silence and
peace. May we find
such places within ourselves.
We give thanks for places of beauty and
refuge. May we find
such places within ourselves.
We give thanks for places of love and
acceptance. May we
find such places within ourselves.

May we begin to heal the outer world by

the integrity of our inner lives.”
“Suppose someone was able to transport you to the
kingdom of God.
When you arrive, how would you walk?
In such a beautiful place, would you walk under
pressure, running and anxious
like we do so much of the time?
Or would you enjoy every moment
of being in paradise?
In the kingdom of God, people are free and they
enjoy every moment. So they do not walk
like we do.
The Land is not somewhere else; it is right here, in
the present.”
- Thich Nhat Hanh
"If you will stay close to nature,
to its simplicity, to the small things hardly
noticeable, those things can
unexpectedly become great and immeasurable."
"There is much beauty here because there is much
beauty everywhere."
Everything has beauty
but not everyone sees it.
– Confucius

You see beauty
where you desire to see beauty.

You see ugliness

where you are afraid to see beauty.
Neale Donald Walsch “Conversations with
God”
“Inner peace can be reached only when we practice
forgiveness. Forgiveness is letting go of the past,
and is therefore the means for correcting our
misperceptions.”
-Gerald Jampolsky

“We all cling to the past and because we cling to the

past we become unavailable to the present.”
- Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh
Be here now.
Don’t anticipate,
don’t yearn for things of the past.
Let the past go with forgiveness
and let the future go with no anticipation.
-Ram Dass
Psalm 46:19

“Be Still and Know that I AM GOD”

“You are here to enable the
divine purpose of the universe
to unfold.
That is how important you
are.“
"I know no other advice than this:
Go within and scale the depths of
your being from which your very life springs
forth."
"We are unutterably alone, essentially, especially
in the things most intimate and most important
to us."
"Reflect on the world that you carry within
yourself.
And name this thinking what you wish...
Your innermost happening
is worth all your love."
- Rainer Maria Rilke
“Healing doesn’t mean as you once
were but rather being able to
function AS YOU ARE with wholeness
and wellness.

In some cases it means you get a

taste of the grace of God in such
wonderful ways that you are able to
function with joy and gladness.”
“When a loved one is lost or away, you suffer.
But if you know how to look deeply,
you have a chance
to realize that his or
her nature is truly the nature of no birth, no death.
There is manifestation and there is the cessation of
manifestation in order to have another manifestation.

You have to be very keen and very alert

in order to recognize the new manifestation of just
one person.
But with practice and effort you can do it.
Pay attention to all the leaves, the flowers,
the birds and the dewdrops.

If u can stop and look deeply,

you’ll be able to recognize your beloved one
manifesting again and again in many forms.
Faith
Faith is the greatest gift we can receive.
And all He asks is just believe in Me and you will find,
You can heal the sick and help the blind,
Feed the hungry and clothe the poor,
Stop the hate and end the wars.
Just LOOK INSIDE YOURSELF and see
That A PART OF YOU is really ME.
The purpose of our life is to seek
happiness.
– Dalai Lama

“Go placidly amid the noise
and the haste, and remember
what peace there may be in silence.”
--Max Ehrmann
