WHAT IS VANET?
VANET- VEHICULAR AD-HOC NETWORK vA VANET is a technology that uses cars in nodes in a network to create a mobile network. v Its an emerging new technology to integrate the capabilities of new generation wireless network to vehicles. vWhere the each vehicles are considered as a nodes or router for communication that occurs approximately 100 to 300 meters.

3G/UMTS
Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) is one of the emerging mobile phone technologies known as third-generation, or 3G. Third-generation systems are designed to include such traditional phone tasks as calls, voice mail, and paging, but also new technology tasks such as Internet access, video, and SMS, or text messaging.

AODV is a reactive protocol, i.e., sothe routes are created and maintained only when they are needed. The route discovery is used by broadcasting the RREQ message to the Click to edit Master subtitle style neighbours with the requested destination sequence number, which prevents the old information to be replied to the request and also prevents looping problem

OLSR (OPTIMISED LINK STATE ROUTING)
OptimizedLink State Protocol (OLSR) is a proactive Click to edit Master subtitle routingprotocol, so the style routes are always immediately availablewhen needed.

VEHICULAR COMMUNICATION
VANET communicates through wireless access for vehicular environments(WAVE). qThe WAVE uses different types of wireless commutation devices such as (Wifi / Wimax). qThe sensors or wireless devices can form a VANET network which resides on top of the vehicles.

GPS
GPS provides global co-ordinates for every object under interest Using GPS location, the velocity of the vehicle can be found with a certain level of accuracy Whento edit Master subtitle style enters the range Click the node/vehicle of the roadside infrastructure, the GPS device on the vehicle sends it location to the infrastructure The roadside system can then calculate the velocity based on timely 4/28/12 communication of location from the nodes

CONCLUSION
Several routing protocols have been proposed or adapted for the vehicular applications.Nevertheless, the geographic routing has become the trends taking advantages of the availability of navigation system that makes the vehicle aware of its own location as well as its Click to edit Many studies showed that the surrounding.
