Always do what you are afraid to do. As a cure for worrying, work is better than whiskey. Beauty without grace is the hook without the bait. Fear defeats more people than any other one thing in the world. For every minute you remain angry, you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind. Hitch your wagon to a star.

The very contradictions in my life are in some ways signs of God's mercy to me.

The whole idea of compassion is based on a keen awareness of the interdependence of all these living beings, which are all part of one another, and all involved in one another.

Born January 31, 1915, Died December 10, 1968 Anglo-American Catholic writer We are so obsessed with doing that we have no time and no imagination left for being. As a result, men are valued not for what they are but for what they do or what they have - for their usefulness.

~Rosa Parks~
I'm tired of being treated like a second-class citizen.

Whatever my individual desires were to be free, I was not alone. There were many others who felt the same way.

I have learned over the years that when one's mind is made up, this diminishes fear; knowing what must be done does away with fear.

Born February 4, 1913, Died October 24, 2005 African-American civil rights activist I would like to be remembered as a person who wanted to be free... so other people would be also free.
