In a move to stop Anna Hazares movement against corruption finally the Union Cabinet cleared the Lokpal bill but without CBI. However the support by the cross party for the legislation was seen with doubt as the Cabinet vetoed the autonomy suggestion to the CBI. A senior minister said that-the CBI will look into only those cases that are going to be referred by the anti graft body. Further the government officials said that the Cabinet cannot agree to the suggestion of the division of the prosecuting and the investigating sections of the CBI. Shanti Bhushan, a prominent team member of Anna Hazares team said that- The Lokpal bill without CBI is not of any use and does not have any meaning. He further said that if CBI is still under the control of the government it will still shield the corrupted government officials. Kiran Bedi also raised her voice stating that is such a bill is made then its better that it is not passed or else it will destroy even the remaining CBI power. Following the reports Anna Hazare has said that he will go on for the 3 day fast in Mumbai from December 27 onwards

The Reserve Bank of India on 9 March 2012 cut the cash reserve ratio (CRR) by 75 basis points. The CRR was cut to 4.75 per cent of their net demand and time liabilities (NDTL) effective the fortnight beginning 10 March 2012.
The RBI action will inject around Rs 48,000 crore of primary liquidity into the banking system. The central bank agressively cut the CRR, the amount of cash that banks need to park with the RBI (or CRR) from 5.50 per cent to 4.75 per cent of deposits to ease the liquidity crunch being faced by banks. The central bank had reduced the CRR from 6 per cent to 5.50 per cent of deposits in its third quarter review of monetary policy in January 2012. The reduction had then injectedg primary liquidity of Rs 315 billion into the banking system.

Researchers in the second week of March 2012 invented fibre-optic technology, under a project called Sardana to run ultra-fast Internet. It demonstrated speed of upto 10 Gigabits per second (Gbps), around 2000 times faster than todays fastest Internet speed. The research showed that by using existing fibre infrastructure Internets speed could be increased.
Within next three years, yearly global internet traffic will be measured in Zettabytes(one trillion Gigabytes), which is a four-fold increase from today. You Tube and Netflix will have most of the traffic.

United Nations drug reports 2011 revealed that India is the largest consumer of the illegal drug Heroin in the South Asian region. The reports suggest that out of the 40 tonnes of heroin that is being produced in South Asia approximately 17 tonnes are consumed in India only, making it the biggest consumer of the drug in the southern region.
